Converting bitmap images to vectors

I should convert some simple logos from bitmap images to vectors in .EPS format, but I'm a bit stuck in the process: I've been looking for simple utility for that and got already very satisfying results with VectorEye, but it doesn't support transparency in bitmaps and ain't able to trace only specific-coloured areas from the source so conversions have always white background instead of just plain logo as vectors. Any suggestions?
