Just to clarify, the link is for a torrent and you downloaded the torrent file then used the client to download the Xvid.?
Doesn't the 'R5' refer to a Region 5 dvd rip?

The XVID file can be run through Convertx2dvd and burned to disk.

or have you tried that and it won't accept it?

Yes, except for the XviD part. The files are not in XviD format, they are a format I've never seen before. On Pirate Bay they said:
"This is fairly new movie format. Basically the same as DVD Screener - this kind of release is legal DVD released in Russia to decrease the level of pirated movies in this country. Retail is rushed out by the studio, so there is little to no cleanup of the film after the telecine process. As a result, you can see some scratches, hairs or other mess on the picture, but you will hardly notice it while watching. External English audio is often used, as these are supplied with Russian sound by default."
    I found this explaination at:
    http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3634067/Hannibal.Rising.R5.CUSTOM.SWESUB.DVDR-TEAFORTWO
But they didn't say anything about how to convert it.

I downloaded another 'R5' (The reef). After I unRar'ed it, I had no problem viewing it and "GSpot" identified it as a Divx - nothing fancy.
The link you provided for the quote has a note above it in Swedish,
"Använd winrar till att packa upp filmen som blir till iso-format. Sen bränn iso-filen med t.ex DvdDecrypter."
which when run through the translator says:
"Spent winrar to that unpack film as am becoming to iso - size. Late catch iso - file with DvdDecrypter."

Perhaps meaning that after unraring, it was .iso files and burned with dvd decrypter?
    Swedish anyone???
