just saw this on tvkeyz....gues we are all sht out of luck

NO Coolsat 4000, 5000, 6000 files released, probably will not be any. We suggest you go shopping for new receiver if you want to watch TV again. Do Not Ask when or why..we do not know !!!
    Whiners will not be tolerated.

sv4000 is very easy to set up. very simple. i got it for 120 here in the bay area, california. i got it without the memory stick. i guess its time to put the cs5000 away according to tvkeyz.

I dont think the coolsat is gonna be working again...
So i must ask, which reciever is easiest to use, and has the most support?- sonicview, captiveworks or viewsat.
P.S. I'm gonna buy a reciever based on what you guys reccommend.

well i think they are all easy if you learn. i bought the sv4000 and had it ready in less than an hour. i just downloaded the new version and the downloader and installed it in the box with the cable that it comes with. put the same dish settings as the cs5000 and did a scan for the channels and ready. i can help you out if you want if you decide to buy it. my cousin bought a ultra view sat and says its easy too but he had to have someone show him.

    How's captive works 800?

Also, will I just have to plug in the wire that is in the lnb input now, and put it into the captive works, to make it work? (i'll have to fix the settings of course)

I haven't seen any statement on the actual Coolsat site but they may not really get around to it. As most of you know this Coolsat problem on the older models has been on going for some time. If I owned a Coolsat, it would have been gone a long time ago but thats just my opinion. As to a better brand, there are 3 top brands I suggest you look into, and several models under each brand. Viewsat, Sonicview and Pansat are all similar in operation and file loading to the Coolsats. My choice is Viewsat because they have been around a long time with good support. Again just my opinion. I also like the Pansat models as a second choice. Sonicview has been working well and support has been through the same team as Viewsat. HERE IS A RUMOR THAT I WILL PASS ON AND TAKE THIS AS JUST THAT, A RUMOR. There are posts out there stating that Viewsat will no longer be supporting Sonicview. I can't confirm this either way but keep that in mind as you decide on a receiver. Most of those other forums will never give you a direct answer to a support/bin file question. My suggestion is read all you can on the different brands and models and then make your pick. Another suggestion with all the new encryption changes that my be on the way. Spend as little money as you can on a new box until this Nagravision 3 system is in place. Its hard to say how it will end up right now.

i don't know anything on captive works. i'm pretty sure its the same. sv4000 you just plug the cable and fix the settings and its ready. the guide for the sv4000 is better than the cs5000. the only big difference is the picture. cs5000 is way better. i think coolsat receivers are better in picture. go with the 6100 or 7000 or 71000 coolsat. im thinking of buying a cs7100 as well.

If the Nagravision 3 is set, then will new boxes have to be invented? or purchased?

If you have ever visited any of the big FTA forums, they usually have sponser dealers at the page top. Most are ok to deal with. If you need some links to forums let me know and I'll PM a few to you.
