    If your getting a lower signal and quality with the SV, you might want to consider buying an inline amplifier. It will boost your numbers.
    Some receivers vary depending on the quality of the tuner.

    They run about $15 here in Canada. It states that if your cable is more than 25 feet, or if you split your line (use diseqc switch with multiple lines) you decrease the quality. The amplifier will also improve picture quality.

    The inline amp is the cheap-est way to go. If you are using DPP, they are a power hog. aig you ever have to change your lnb's consider the legacy, they seem much easier to work with.

    I use the DPP quad and have not problem with it, running on 100 feet of RG6. I use it on a viewsat ultra and a nfusion. No problems with either, but I seem to be just one of the few that doesn't.

    I have a legacy as a back up.

    I had the same problem with my cs5k, what I did to fix it was disconnect the coresponding coax cable coming into the Diseqc and change the cable to an other port, if that does not work try doing a manual scan of each transponder.

    I think to have solve 75% of the issue.I was looking at the signal meter on the SV and notice on sat 110 the signal was jumping like being intermitent, so I replaced the switch with the one that came with the box and now is switching good,the signal strengh is around 69 and quality betwen 44-45,picture looks good and missing some channels(not many).I'm happier than this morning,but still not fully satified,have to recover the missing channels.Still lot to learn about channel organising etc.
    thanks all for all the help, will consider the inline amp in the future.

    Don't like changes very much. What's with the changes to the page, kinda scarry.LOL. O.k. Blnk. Here it is. If the ultra is on any sat 119 channel, the cs 5 locks onto only the 119 channels. If the ultra is on anyother sat ( 91, 110 ) The cs 5 work's perfect on every sat. Switch problem???

    I would assume you have a different switch for each unit.
    I am guessing that your lnb has an internal switch that changes both receivers.

    I am trying to respond to you and breck. First to breck, NO MORE INTERNAL SWITCHES!! I got rid of the dpp lnb. Second to Blnk, yes the 2 multistar switches!! Grounding should be fine. I ground the dish's and the switches. To the house ground.

    In PR is like compared to Mexico, you need at least a 1.2 meter dish.

    goto:

    xx=tt. This is in Mexico
