I'm shocked, no one has posted today. Its too quite in here. We need a new ecm to hit so we can get attendance in here back up (just Kidding).
Well I bombed on Bev. Tried the info from Satcalc, but would not work.
The skew angle was 94.6. The skew angles from dishpointer was 16.2 and the same for satcalc. My problem with the dish500 is you can only go down to around 40. Is there a special dish for Bev? Maybe central fl is too far south for bev/?

 

Don't bother with the skew and try to get 91W. Don't have to skew with only 1 sat.

 

Either follow brecks suggestion or PM me and give me your zip code and i will give you the correct settings for both 91 and 82 or if you are only using 1 lnb with a Y adapter it will not work, you will be in between both birds. A Y adapter must be used for both if not just put 1 lnb on the end of the d5 and you can get because its circular polarity

 

So should I set the skew to around 90 (this would be in the middle) and then the elevation (All there web sites were 54.8, 54.8 and 55.59) so I set the elevation at 55. I'm not sure of what azmuth to us, true, or magnet, but they are all around 200 so I know the general direction to point the dish. Thanks for the info, I,ll try that tomorrow and see what happens.

 

You only need skew if your going for more than 1 bird. If you PM your zip i will tell you how to do it, dont worry i am not comming for a visit then you'll ask me to install for you..LOL Elevation is important and try to be as exact as possible or you wont get signal, Az is east and west, once skew and elevation are correct if you use a magetic compass use the mag setting if not use the true value this compensates for the curvature of the Earth.

For example this is Orlando:
True Azimuth: 190.44
Magn. Azimuth: 195.72
Magnetic azimuth should be used when using an uncorrected compass.
Dish Elevation: 55.88
Skew Angle: 95 Always make sure your mast is installed corectly and that it's plumb all around or these settings may not work for you.

04/30/08 DN/Bev MECM Detected

Bev has a new Mecm60 in the stream as of yesturday morning. Bev may or may not activate the Mecm60 by sending a new 0907 key. That we will have to wait to see what they do.

An Mecm is usually sent 1 hr priour to activation giving at least 1hr heads up of things to come. They must do this to allow for subs to update before activation, or their subs face black screens.

DN entered a new Mecm60 in the stream as well at approx 4:50 pm today. Guess they will both be gearing up to activate them in the next day or so. Prepare for some action from both the providers.

 

Ooh No. Just when I was getting ready to try B*v. Hope they wait a day or two. Guess I'll hurry up and get started early in the morning. I hate to hear this. Oh Well not a big surprise. Thanks Bill for the heads up.
