The post I made above was supposed to be taken as a tongue in cheek, kind of a take off on a commercial. God, I hat to have to explain these things.

I have a very old dongle, doesn't work like it used to, so you need to talk to someone that has a newer one than mine.

There are places that I would NOT plug it into, and I sure wouldn't hook it up to any thing that might have electric current running through it.......................OUCH.

This is a pretty serious question after all the sarcasm!!! I think it is the same as the nf*****. We will have to ask the resident expert's. LOL.

HA HA, its been too quiet around here. I guess we needed an ECM to have something to talk about again. Yes the DN PPVs are going out and probably more channels to follow. Just watch what you can for now and have faith in the coders. Those looking for the new bin, there is no need to ask. Just watch these posts and when the bin comes out you will read about it on here. Then check out Bindepot.ca where they will be posted as they are released.

    mmmmm....

I'm sure hoping I didn't understand this post. I thought a dongle was to watch TV, not to not watch it. And besides if it's as old as stated, is it build from relay tubes or something like that??? Also, do you need one of those old tv tuners to make it work???(remember those round numbered dials and the clack sound when switching channels)??? Do you need additional hardware to watch satellite TV with it??? And if it doesn't use electricity to work... what's the power source??? Does it even have one??? Might it be colored blue??? I really don't understand. Is this also kept secret from us??? Where's my bin????

Well I guess it all depends the "type" of dongle your using if it is a "old one" and doesn't realy work that well any more its probably because you used it in a abusing way, you know like kid with new toy that plays with it so much in a that he breaks it in a few days after getting it.

It was originally built with cath-o-ray tubes, then in the 50's was converted over to transistors. Old tv turners are not needed, because they are about as hard to find as a dongle as old as mine. You need to find someone to switch channels, a remote will NOT work, you will have to get outta your lazy boy to do it. The power source is 6 hampsters running in a cage that is hooked to dc generator. I found that dc just burns your dongle just a little and will not knock your ass across the room if your dongle gets shorted out.

The only time my dongle turned blue was when I was trying ac as the power source and had a spike in the electricity ............OUCH.

As you get older, you will notice that your dongle becomes more of a thing that oft times gets in the way of things like..............Zippers.

Believe me, it is no secret of what will become of your dongle if it is ever plugged in to the wrong cat5 hole.

If I can clear up anymore of your questions, please let me know.

Is there a list of stb(s) that the dongles will work with and I assume it won't work with dial-UP?

    Captains use their Captain dongle
Coolsat, Homesat and Visionsat use the same Coolsat type dongle
