Coolsat 5000 Questions PART 2

You buy the dongle and a power adaptor.
You have to download the UPDATE file and BIN file for your receiver and install it. Then you setup your receiver to work with the Dongle.
Probably takes 20 minutes to an hour to setup depending on your computer and electronic skills.

 

Doesn't sound to complicated. Hopefully it comes with installation instructions. I wonder if it works that great since everyone seems to be going with the Nfu****. Does it stay connected to the internet all the time, or do you know?

 

Works the same as the nfusion. Connected all the time.
It's a descision of a new receiver or a dongle to upgrade what you have to iks.

 

Ok I thought it must work that way. I have a CS5K. Do you know if they are out for this box & I assume it will not work with dial-up, is that correct?

 

Don't work with dial up that I know of.
They are for all Coolsats, Homesat and Visionsat.
You just have to see if a dongle_bin is available for your unit yet.
Bins are out for Homesat, Visionsat iv200/iv300, and Coolsat 6100, 7100, 8000, 8100.
I think the list is correct. Other updates to come in time.
They need to create them and test them to ensure there are no glitches.

 

I am a little creeped out by this dongle talk. at first i thought you guys were joking about anatomical man parts but now that breck is involved and talking about bins...

 

since i also have a captive works 800, will i need a captive dongle? can you find a captivating dongle in this day and age?

i have missed you guys since i sold my cs 5000. no other forums have the kindred spirit you guys have, they are all usually too busy watching their boxes because they always have a fix so theirs no time to bond.

 

Thanks again Breck. I'll wait to see if they come out with one for my CS5k. I'd rather do that (if they work) and keep my CS than to go the Ifu****. I'm so attached to my CS.

 

You should have kept your CS. Soon they will come out with a dongle for it and it will be as good as the Infu**** if not better. I get a stronger signal with mine which is better than my SV.

a guy offered me 100 bucks for it so i sold it. i only gave 125 originally so i was pleased to move it along to another person(victim). he can use it to build a rocketship and fly it to planet booger for all i care. my cousin still has a 5000 though so i still try to go to bindepot and get his bins. thanks for supporting so many boxes btw breck.

ihave a screen that says dish network season ticket on chanel 9800 anybody else watching the fight on a different channel?
