Same here bud.......waiting patiently for Coolsat 5000 bin! Any word or rumours?

 

I would do the trouble shooting first to determine where the culprit is, then if everything workss fine at night and bad during the day (which is usually a sign of DiSEqC port trouble) then i would do the same troubleshooting during the day to isolate each piece of your hardware before you drive yourself nuts, is the system grounded? You could also have a ground loop causing erratic voltage.

 

I will be out before n3 hits, thats the latest

 

Just a thought for you to maul over!! You always work at night.. During the day don't work right. The box down stairs you talk about always work's fine? Day or night? If so switch all the cables to your box and see what happens. If all is well it is the settings in the box it self. Do the other people work at night? If there box is off guess what??

Well... cs5k is pretty likely dead as well as his 6 & 4 k brothers.

Internal strugle or not, it's clear we need to move on to another brand or at least to newer cs boxes... if anyone cares to trust cs again.

5k has great picture quality and ease of use, but clearly you don't want to be taken hostage, be it by the owner or the programmers, so run as far away as you can from cs.

I, for one, bought an nfus* and am pretty happy with it, except for the heavy internet traffic it requires. I'm also waiting for the n3 hit to see what box does the best job solving that puzzle. Then i'll buy a that box a my main source and let the nfus* as a backup.

Care to comment about the cs5k perspectives in the nexy few moths?

This is a cs5k lovers/haters thread, so we talk about how we love our cs5k when tv is up and how we hate it when it is down... and we talk about discarding it, trashing it, rolling the suv over it, or dreaming about having some box that actually has tv on.

What's the problem with that?? You could create the REALLY, EXCLUSIVE, CLEAN, PURE CS5K ONLY THREAD, NFUS** AND OTHER BOXES USER'S BANNED thread and get a clean, nice and very short thread for cs5k questions only. I'll be a member of such a thread as well as this one, as everything I can read about my hobby helps me undertand and enjoy it better. Saludos.
