so is the viewsat ultra a good receiver

 

Thanks i was interested in picture quality and not so much features as i would use it in my computer room/library. The CS i was going to use as a birdog...LOL

Thats a very good one but will not spend 200 with n3 due out.

 

Jerry might be busy but when you change stbs, usually you have to do nothing, some tuners are weaker and you might just have to "tweak" Azimuth east/west until you get your best signal, just ensure you copy down your settings on CS to easily transfer over.

 

I found one for 90 bucks! how do i know if it's a clone? just a thought...Will I have to change my dish settings if I switch from CS to VS?

You can use any receiver. You never have to move the sats once they are setup. Receiver is the only thing you change. Sometimes the sats need a little fine tuning but not always.

 

Aren't Platnium Lites discontinued? Possible it's a clone?

 

Might be a clone. That model has been cloned and the bins contain clone killers, so if it is, it might be $90 down the drain. That's less than half the price of most reliable sellers. I would be cautious.

 

For the better support, Viewsat, Sonicview, Pansat and Captiveworks are the top four. Coolsat is somewhat after those, but I wouldn't recommend Coolsat to anyone anymore. That's your choice if you chose CS again.

Prices vary. I have never had a PVR, so I can't comment on the quality.

Nfusion has PVR, but everyone will tell you not to buy Nfusion for the PVR. It totally sucks from all reports, but there is a real Nfusion PVR and HD unit coming sometime in the future.

i put in the wrong bin for my veiwsat lite i use extreme bin now i cant get all my channels can that cause that?

 

Load the factory file for the lite.

 

Are we down again?? my SV shows scramble channel and other channels waiting for updates.

 

We went down earlier, viewsat has new files out. Check bindepot.ca, they should be there.
