It's pretty much the same. The 6100 actually has an automatic hardware scan too.
It will scan for sats, lnbs, switches, etc and will adjust setting for your setup. This doesn't always work, but you can manually setup and scan.

6100 also has USB updating. Best feature addition.

Support for 6100 and up, are still after Viewsat, Pansat, Sonicview and Captiveworks, but is not bad.
The last update was under 24 hours.
The 2 before that was several hours after the other brands got theirs. Not too bad.
They aren't the quickest, but in the top 10.

Either one is a good choice. The 360 is the newer unit.

Good price. Be aware though, the 6100 clones have been out for several months.

Because it's a new receiver and coder are still getting familar with it, the first couple bins had glitches, but in time they will clean it up.

If you get it and find some glitches, I wouldn't panic. They will work on them and release improved bins when they have them.

I read about some of the bin problems and they did come out with fixes for them it seems like the set up is similar so its just a matter of preference and if you feel you need 2 tuners

I see that Coolsat are leaving the people with 4000's, 5000's and 6000's to hang out to dry. Coolsat sucks! They are only screwing themselves because anybody with any brains will never buy another Coolsat.

    Hi Breck

Quick question, planning to get Viewsat VS2000 Platinum Lite. Does it support 110,119 and 118 satellites. Also, do I have to move my dish or it should work on the same settings as Coolsat. i.e. I just have to plug it in, put in a new bin and scan for channels - right. Please let me know , thanks again

Correct - Basically the same and your sat dish is already to go.

Blankstare is familiar with the sat setting for those 3 sats.
I don't use them yet. When I move, the 2nd dishes will be going up for them.

With these new recievers coming out, do you think that they will stop the support for the later models (6100,7000, etc) like they did with 4k,5k,6k? Its going to be kinda hard to trust them again

Thanks Breck, one last question: Do you think going for VS2000 Lite is a good choice or do you see support for this fading out pretty soon

    Thanks

I agree 100% tony, if they sold rights to 4/5/6 they should have made a statement and gave credit to anyone who wants to upgrade to lets say a 6100/7000/7100 maybe give 79.00 off with the trade in and cost only 100.00, then everyone would trust them and continue to buy from CS, instead they sold 4/5/6 and dont realize that they cant simply wash their hands with those models because they all bear the coolsat name. Stupid business people if you ask me, dumb decisions keeping everyone in the dark when they could have really swayed the buyers back, I for 1 would have upgraded for 100.00 and support, instead they lose trust and uncertainty will do them in.

alright guys, i have a question.
My friend has a dish reciever in which he used to place a card in to unlock all the channels. When it would stop working he would give the card to someone who fixed the card. The guy fixing the card would enter it into a machine and (new codes) would be entered into the card. Then when u enter the card into the reciever all the channels would be unlocked again.

First of all, I was wondering if this is safe, or better than fta recivers.
He wants to know if he can purchase the machine that places new codes onto the card. That way he can set it up all the time.

Hey Blank, why don't you go over to that website, F2***, and post this, maybe it will do some good. It seemed to help that one time you blasted them. They'll probably ban you, but what do you have to loose. I would take the same deal if it was offered.
