I can guarantee if you post that over there they will ban you. I have seen people banned over there for a lot less. They really protect the coolsat coders and will not allow any coolsat bashing at all.

I agree too..100%.Coolsat will go down the drain.I switched to SV and not going back to CS. They are excellent stbs, but worthless without support.

I use to have a box like that(paid $250 for it),everytime it went down I called a friend and he inserted the card in a PC card adapter and program it($10 each time). At that time I was completly new on this. I think this is esencially the same except that you program the box directly. At that time the programs lasted much longer. I don't think the card is not any better. This is my personal opinion, maybe some of the readers know more about this.

Its a sure way for you to go to federal prison, plastic works and at one time that was all their was, but if you alter d*k or b3v property with illegal software intended for stealing television and you get caught or you start reprogramming cards yourself and someone (a customer) turns you in, your done. IKS is similar to the extend of using altered property but the altered property is 7000 miles away and your "sharing" the information, not physically using the card.

My Advice is to stay away

    It is an apparent conversion.

Nobody has confirmed to get it working.

I think it is bogus and some clown putting this on all the sites to get everyones hopes up.

Coolsat gave up creating codes for cards a while back from what I read.

I read a thread by blindscan and he says he has heard of all that conversion/j-tagging on 4/5/6 but seriously doubts any of the stb other than cs4k can be successfully converted due to the innards (lol my own word) electrical components inside being same, yadda yadda yadda. Its best to either wait or upgrade and keep cs4/5 or 6 as backup while you wait.

Well, it was a good run with CS5000 while it worked.......AHHHHH good times. Moving on, Does anyone recommend the CaptiveWorks 700S?

Not familiar with captiveworks itself, but support has been good for it.
I am fairly sure it hasn't been cloned yet, but maybe in time.
Prices are reasonable. Just be sure you use a reliable source.

    Hi everyone,

I have been reading through this forum recently and its a great place to know stuff as well as have fun. Keep up the good work...;)

I have a coolsat 5k and now I am looking to buy a viewsat pro or a sonicview 360. Can anybody suggest me a reliable place to buy these?

If I buy this from some places like stuffupforgrab.com or viewsatonline.com, then do we need to do any hardware changes to get it work or just installing the new bin will suffice?

Last, wanted to know about the HD receiver, I read somewhere that to get all HD channels, we need to have 8psk module or something? Would appreciates if anyone can explain / point me to some place. Is there any place where the receiver is available with this module and we can just buy, install latest bin and use ?

Looking to hear from experts here..

    Cheers!!

    Stuffupforgrab.com is ok and safe.
Viewsatonline I don't know for sure.

As for HD, for BEV, you can get HD with the unit as is.
For DN, you need to add the 8psk adaptor.

Honestly, I don't know any reliable sites for it.

    For Viewsat: 9000 HD(about $409.99) + 8psk(about $174.99) = $584.98

    For SonicView: 8000 HD(about $429.99) + 8psk(about $169.99) = $599.98

They both run about same price give or take.

Here's a video on youtube for installation. Looks easy enough.

    Thanks breck.

HD with 8psk adpater is way expensive.... :(

So as far as Viewsat Pro or Soniview 360 is concerned, I can just order from Stuffupforgrab, install latest bin and ready to go? Right?

BTW, in these two which one will you recommend?

    thanks once again... ;)

I have never used either brand, so don't know them at all.
Just know the support is good for both.

If you wanted HD and wanted to stay cheap, it would be easier to buy a second dish for BEV. What is it? About $50-80 for another dual lnb dish compared to about $180 for the adaptor.

I need a HD tv before i worry about that. LOL
