Coolsat 5000 Questions PART 2

breck, billo,blkstare, jerry456,lairot(if i butcher any names i am sorry) these guys will determine what thread to use because they have what we all need: good, valuable info and bins. but i will be looking at the coolsats thread for sure.

 

If you are using a 2 lnb set-up you need to make sure the dish is skewable, if you want to PM me your zipcode i can look it up and send you skew, az and elevation.

 

you have to set up a favorite channel list, and include a carrier channel in the list

 

thats the problem, we have never seen a carrier channel for bev. do you know what channel it would be for sat 91?

 

Good larikot, must have had too much memory overwrites.

 

You dont actually see it on DN either you just tune ti ch 239 for 30min and it programs itself

 

does anyone know what channel to tune it to for bev? thats probably why it didn't work for you cj, we didn't know the right channel.

 

Its 212 for bev or 1212 if you have renumbering on

 

thanks man, i will pass that on to cj. if i understand this right i do the following to get this to work:
got to favorites and set up a list of channels(not all will fit unfortunately)
exit and save, then tune to channel 212 or 1212 and leave it for thirty minutes?

 

Chris you have to make sure you include channel 212 in the favorites list. that is what was said in the old 5000 thread. i think maybe it was breck who was tell somebody how to get more EPG, but im not sure.

 

well... assuming we get a new bin before i get mad anduse my 5000 box as a urine sample container, i will try it and if it works post every step exactly for anyone else wanting to know how to extend their epg for this box.

 

1) menu>channels>set favorites>

2) pick one of the favorite lists (eg. sports)

3) add channels to the list, delete channels that already are there if you dont want them

4) be sure to include EPG carrier channel (Chris case 212)

5) exit and save

 

or perhaps blkstare whose a totally awesome dude will post it so my illiterate arse doesn't have to.

also, are their any of the prenamed favorites that will let you add more channels than the others, and if you can't fit all your channels into one list, and you create 2, do you have go under each one and leave it on the 1212 channel for thirty minutes?

 

I would wait until BEV is back up.

 

If yu want your EPG updated, you only leave it on that channel when you turn off the TV, goto work, school whatever it is you do when you dont watch TV.

Hey Blank, I was just wondering what site you go to and look to see if a new bin is out yet. I know i can get it from bindepot. Chris gave me a couple links, and jhardy told me to use Brecks toolbar. I was wondering exactly what site YOU use.
