how is it that they fixed the freezing but it still freezes?

 

no freezing at all here..

 

170 not working for me. still scramble black. any ideas?

Thanks billo, all three cost around the same, read good things about captive works, but maybe just temporary, also can record too. I do not want to get into nfusion, too risky. So what do you think, sonicview or viewsat without recording capability but proven brand names or captive work with recording? Thanks for all your input

 

Mine scrambles,but very few times (2 times in the afternoon). I just change channels and come back up righ away..much better than 169.

 

I was considering replacing mine with Sonicview 4000, but the CS coders are cathing up and support have improve a lot.So I'm waiting and see if that support continues. I like my CS5k, I have being loading bins in a minute or less, no scanning & no factory reset.

Sonicview and Viewsat also have recording feature I believe.
I think almost all brands have standard, pvr and/or HD.
Do a little research for the brands that have what your looking for.
Sonicview, Viewsat, Captive Works are 3 quick fix brands.
I know it's hard to know, but try to avoid buying a unit that might be replaced down the road. eg. Coolsat 7000 with 7100
Support will be there, but nice to have an up to date model.

Do a factory reset, load 100 bin, then load latest bin and rescan all sats and put in your settings. No more freezing then

 

Update doesn't work.
Everyone is complaining on f2atv that it is still the same.

Waiting for another bin update.

 

You should have waited a day or to see if 170 going to work ok before offering. Too late now.

 

Not too late - you can always go back to 169.

 

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. I have 119 and 110 and they are set on 3 and 4 (a freind set it up for me). Now want to see if all the channels are downloading.

 

If you are getting 80% and 0% the dish is not pointed right. If you are getting both green signal and quality its a cable, lnb or switch.

Tune to a premium channel, it will say scramble then let keys AR.. You should be fine.

 

I think the only complaint is about the 7k still freezing

 

Hi there, Thanks, I have a black screen....we just tried it on another dish and we don"t even get any signal on that tv either with that dish, although the box itself shows the time and changes channels, we also did a factory reset and loaded the new bin...nothing.
