What happens when you hit Menu?

 

Nothing, the red button on the box flashes but nothing comes up on screen

 

Ok you said you tried another "TV". Is the other TV on your current hardware system?

 

Actually I tried another totally different dish, should I have done something different? I just put it to the box and the tv. And their box is working fine

 

Ok let me try and understand this. Your box didnt work on your system and a friends system? Are the settings the same for both systems? Does your friends stb work in your system?

 

Haven't tried that I just took our box over since they have dish Their box is a Pansat.

 

If their box works with your hardware then its the box, if not its your switch.

If your friends pansat is up and going, maybe take your box to his house and test it on his setup.
But since your not able to access the menu, you wouldn't be able to scan for channels.

Blank you think clearing nvram would help?

 

I think would be the final step i am trying to figure out if they blew out a DiSEqC port. Even if they setup their CS at the friends house if the lnbs are different they wont get a signal. Wish i knew more of the setup

 

I can try and answer, but I don't kn ow much of the tech talk...what do you mean by setup?

 

What sat/s are you pointing to? What lnbf's are you using. Are you using an external switch. One thing i thought about is you say the box shows the time. CS5K only shows the time when it is off otherwise it shows the channel. There is power switch in back and a power button in front, when you press the button in front what does the green lights in front say? and what happens on your TV?

 

I think he said he can see the EPG and time but no admin menu.

 

Okay, 110 and 119 are the sats. I don't know what lnbfs, internal switch, the box shows the time when off. and when I turn the box on the channel shows and the tv is black. This is the best I can do, when my hubby gets home I'll ask....sorry.

 

Hey Breck just wondering if you are still getting all your channels. My daughter is trying to watch TREEHOUSE and that channel(and about 10 others) say "No or Bad Signal" but the rest of the channels are working fine. I tried to do a factory reset and scan channels again but the channels that were getting no signal now dont appear in the guide. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Treehouse is ok here. Haven't come across any channels that don't work.
Still have the crap scrambled channel issue. Maybe you just have to wait for it to come in.

 

internal switch? or external switch? does your coax come from the lnb directly to your box?

 

What are the channels you cant see? (numbers)
