Coolsat 5000 Questions PART 2

Sorry still at work... I'm doing this little by little and I loose track...I'm sooooo confused, but I'll get it...my hubby wants to thrw the box away, I'm the optimist in the house.

 

That might not be necessary, there are a few steps you can take to determine if its gone. If its a clone it might be toast, NORW purposely puts "clone killers" in their bins but that would have happen quite a few bins ago, but you never know.

 

Ok, did the forced flash and nothing still black screen and nothing shows on tv no matter what buttons we press. We've had the box for a little over a year and hubby say he doesn't think it's cloned but....how can we tell. And worst case scenario I guess we buy a new one, ant suggestions?

 

i was wondering if there was a way to reset the password on the coolsat 5000 box
they gave the box to my dad but his friend forgot the password he only has dish 110 and i whant to add 119 to his box but i cant go in to the dish seting menu
please let me know if ther is a reset or something i can do to get into the menu setings

Did the factory bin load? Do you see normal progression on the box that it took?

 

The CS5000 Master Code is 0103 that should let you in to change the p/w and setup more sats

It took the bin and black screen. Ok,,,, What are you using to connect to tv compnent cables or rca plugs?

 

rca plugs but, they go to the vcr and from the vcr to tv.

 

Hi family3, I do not want to jump in in the middle of a conversation but, mine is hooked in the exact same way. are you sure the cables out to the vcr are not crossed

Try and hook them directly from stb to tv

 

Hi Breck, Checked all is where it should be. The weird thing is that after that storm it just went black. we never touched the connections and we can see the vcr without a problem

 

See if your friends viewsat works on your system, did you hook up the coolsat directly to the tv bypassing the vcr?

Hey gang could the storm have shot something up into the cs. Lightning pulse or something. I know the switches at the dish use a voltage signal from the reciever, could it get damage from the other way.
