Did anyones coolsat go out? was watching then all of a sudden went to no or bad signal on all channels.

Please don't yell because I'm asking a question that's been answered 100 times over. I have a new computer and VISTA and I can't think straight from all that banging my head against the wall.

I did search and just want a confirmation before I go to the store.

The serial port is missing from new computer. I want a Serial DB9 connector (which is the adapter that has an RS232 serial port)to USB. I can get this at Radio Shack, and I have to install the driver and always use the same port. TRUE?

Also, has anyone done this with VISTA yet?

From everything I have read in the past, all your statements are correct. As to using the same port, you may need to play with that setting to find the com port number that works (I THINK). Then use that setting from there on. The USB adapters and Vista can be a pain at first startup but in time they will work. This is all from stuff I have read since I don't actually use either one.

I have had to find and download drivers for just about everything I use. So by the time I get my new cable I ought to have lots of practice!

Learned yesterday that my OLD computer has lifetime tech support (which I never had to use) and my NEW computer only has tech support for a year (and I've already called them 5 times!)

Think I'll relax and just watch movies tonight. Thanks again. Glad we're back on A-Dawn. And glad I have movies to watch!

 

I had Vista installed for about a month. I shut off all the security features and it still tried to tell me how to run my computer. I reformated the PC and reinstalled XP Pro and all is well again.

Well...maybe blank or someone might know more. I have seen sometimes they say to power down, turn off back switch, wait two or three minutes, and power up again. Sometimes the A/R will kick in and work. ??? Anyone??

 

works fine with the vista .
if you have problem run diagnosis.
but if you had xp before vista do not give the opportunity to do some of the setups manualy.the mac is worse specialy the last one it have one usp port you have to buy special gadget from them

DN is changing keys quickly, mine went scramble then came back up, same for BEV but that came up much quicker.
