Coolsat 5000 Questions PART 2

Thanks all for the help with my serial port/Vista issue. I'm on my way to Radio Shack.

Also for the reminder of Breck's drivers. One good thing has happened, I finally got my speakers to work. Another bad thing, the EzTune program that "fixes" things has a bad license. Gateway goes HUH?!

Hello, Can anyone help.

I still have the same problem as last night. The box works for about 90% of all chanels. About 25 PPV 505-530 have a weak signal (about 30%) and go out then a message comes out and informs me that bad or no signal.

I have done the following.

NVRAM
Factory File reset
Checked all conections
Review Sat settings both (119&110)are 90+ green bars.

 

You say in one line you have weak signal at about 30% and in another line you say you have 90+. Which one is it?
Sounds like your need to adjust your dish a slight bit to improve the signal.

 

I would take your friends stb and hook it up to your set-up. If it works your box is more than likely a clone or fried. If your friends stb doesnt work its your hardware and getting a new stb wont help.

When setting up sats in the set up menu I have a strong signal for both 119 and 110. When I scan for chanels all of the chanels are coming in at a strength of 90%+. The PPV 505-530 are coming in at 30%. It is only those chanels (ppv)that I am having problems with.
They were working before this bin file (1.69)

 

Please help. I'm using bin170. I just connected my coolsat 5000 in another room the same way I always have. Scramble channel has been on screen since I've downloaded the bin. I tried reading but my eyes keep crossing. I'm in South Florida.

 

I don't know for sure but if 169 is still working, try to install it. even if it is not working the signal strength will still show up on the bottom of the screen. If the signal is in the green, then get a new version of 170.

I need some help i moved to the new place before i got to dishes 500 one for the 148 (International Channel) other one pointing for local and HBo stuff. But now i got the dish plus classical looking thing with the glass End LLB, i am using coolsat 5000 i update the new bin 170 i got sgreen light for the signel but all scramble channel any one help me .................

Blankstare I do get channel 509@ 94% strength signal.
Channels after that have week signal.

Do you think it could be with LNB switch or the position.
1st time I've had this problem.

 

I know exactly what it is 509 is a vertical tp channel (12.457V) all others 502-508 and 510-531 are 12.414H, 12.326H, 12.297H, 12.239H and 12.443H Which means you arent getting Horizontal channels which usually indicate a wrong lnb setting or a faulty lnbf

 

Goto page 46 in this thread and i wrote an entire how to to help you get your channels back or at least roubleshoot the issue

Goto page 46 first and troubleshoot could just be a simple setting
if you need to replace lnb they are cheap and depending on where you live you can go into a place and save shipping, usually like 20.00US
