I have read the info on Pg. 46.

I will try it out. I had read it before just did not understand the force flash. I thought it was the same as NVRAM.

Not that, about Horizontal TP's and correspondance with lnb's

Even though the channels came back here is good info to hold onto:

No H Polarities

OK, there's your reason why you're missing a couple of hundred channels.

Not having Horizontal Polarity TPs can be caused by a number of things.

1. You have incorrect LNB Type in your Dish Settings

2.If your LNBs are Legacy, and you use LNB Type of OCS-DP you will Not have any H TP.
Vice versa if you have DP LNBs and you use "Single" for LNB Type, you will lose all H TPs.

3. Your Coolsat LNB Polarity Switching Transistor or other component got zapped because you failed to turn the Power OFF with the rear switch while connecting/disconnecting your LNB cable.

4. A faulty connector causing a Voltage drop and lowering the 18 Volts needed to switch to the Horizontal TP to below the threshold of 16 Volts.

5.Your LNB Power is set to 13 Volts instead of ON/Auto, then you will lose your H TPs also.

I would Turn the Power OFF with the rear switch on your Coolsat and examine The connectors at both the LNB and STB end. Maybe best to recrimp the connectors.

If you have a friend where you could test your CS5K or if you have another STB to verify that your cable/connectors are good.

I have tried all up to trying another LNB switch. I live in LA,Ca.

 

do you have a Diseqc switch or a sw21?

 

I would change the switch first then lnb switches are 5-7 dollars and lnbs 15-40

 

To be honest Mr. Stare. Not sure what is what any more.

I have the CS 5000 sat switch which says "Diseqc" on it.

I thought that was the LNB?

Well lucky for you all PPV movies are on 110 except 502, 505 and 509 which are on 119.

Anyway, shut off the power in your cs5k from the back and unscrew your coax cable. Then goto your DISEqC switch and unscrew port 2 and put it in port 3. The re screw your coax into the back of the stb (cs5k) re power and turn on, then goto menu> installation> 0000> dish setting> satellite 110.0W Echostar 8, 10> scroll down to "committed and change from 2 to 3. Check to see if you get those channels

 

Yes. The setting on the reciver are 119 on 1 and 110 2

I'm back.

Made the changes re-scaned on 3 waiting for the box to AR.
I will inform as soon as something happens. Keeping fingers crossed.

 

It did not work. Now I'm missing most of the PPV channels, I had them before with low signal strength, still have the ones on 119 (502, 505 and 509) just not the ones on 110.

Any more trouble shoot techniques? They are appreciated.

 

Tell me what your settings say for both 119 and 110 please
