A DiSEqC(Digital Satellite Equipment Control) switch does one thing, and one thing well: it combines up to 4 satellite feeds into one single output to your DVB card.

Almost every DVB card and application incorporates the DiSEqC standard, meaning your software and card understands which feed is connected to each input on the DiSEqC switch. What this means for you is that only a click or two on your software to switch satellite feed.

A DiSEqC works very much the same way as multiswitch(sw-64 for example) does, but they are not compatible with each other. Your feeds should be direct from your Antenna LNB.
    hope its going to help

Hi Blnk, sorry for the slow response. If you are still outthere, the big encased head has 2 cables coming out. 1 to one box and the 2 cable to the other. all on d/n. I have the second dish set for the 91, with a dual output lnb

Perfect hook 1 cable from the DN setup to your 1st DiSEqC switch, then second from the DN to your 2nd DiSEqC switch both on port 1, then hook up 91.0W Nimiq to port 3 on both Diseqc switches, then hook each coax comming out to each stb... use settings above and your good to go

So far Blnk you have got me very excited. Will the 4x1 switch that came with the viewsat work for me or do I need something else. I can get two of them. I did try to use one of the viewsat switches on the c/s box, but the switch lost one of the sats. Is this because I tried it on only one of the boxes.

you can use any FTA DiSEqC switch 4x1 with these 2 stb's, except any dish network switches like an sw41, sw42, sw44, sw64 etc.. Chieta heavy Duty 1.5 db insertion loss is best but cs,vs, ps all make good switches. They key is never to connect any coax with power on your stb, unplug the cord to the stb when connecting coax cables or you will fry that port on the DiSEqC switch. Enjoy!

Thank-you Blnk. The viewsat switch that came with the box is shown as a sw-41 DISEqC switch. Not good by the sounds of it?

You're right Blnk it doesn't say anything on the box about dish. Just a regular 4x1. I will try all this out tomorrow. I will let you know how it pans out o.k. Good-night.

Hey. I was wondering what the latest viewsat boxes were? I know, the coolsats work with ascending numbers. Also, where can i buy a new box? Is amazon.com safe?

Hi Blnk, Not so happy news. I did just what you said, here's what happened. Each cable out of the dish went to number 1 on each switch. Each cable out of the B*V dish went to the # 3 spot on each switch. I came inside and set the 91 l.n.b on each box and, B*V and 119 came in great. 110 did not come in on either box. Getting a bit less excited now, help.

Although this is cs thread, I can tell you that there are lots of clones of all makes and models out there. Go to vs web site and they have a list of dealers. When they send ECM's down, they also include something to kill clones. Also, check dealers on bindepot. Clones look almost the same, so read up before you buy!

Make sure in your settings 110 locks in and commits to port 2

A little revised statement. You r right, I had to check the settings again. Think I had a brain fart or something. I found another guy who told me the sw 21 will work but my settings were wrong. For the hell of it I tried the sw-21 and he is also right. As long as the settings are correct. Either way I am now a very happy t.v. watcher!!!!
