for some reason i think they do it on purpose. Each time there is a fix the order of the boxes getting fixed is different. i think they want us to buy all the brands.

You will find the same with the bins Blacklist does. He does different models and brands, and never the same when updates come out.

It's like doing a high school exam. You look over all the questions and do the easier ones first. You then go back over the harder ones later and bang your head until you figure it out.

Same concept. Some updates are easier than others therefore showing no pattern on how updates are released.

But the true pattern is that the A+ student always finishes before the E or F student. Same with FTA bins. Some crack the codes faster.

Yes Blnk I went to bed, had to wokk early this morning. Anyway The head on the dish 500, Big black sticker on back says D/P plus. The sticker on the front of the head says D/P plus digital lnbf. It is two eyes encased in white plastic. Two cables come out only. The settings above are perfect for D/Net only. As soon as I put the diseq switch in, the switch drops sat 110.

Not up to date on switches and lnbs, but have you tried changing lnb type? or diseqc switch type? I am only guessing. Seems maybe the switches are conflicting. May be easier if you can't figure it out, to buy a branch and 2 new lnb's.

I think your problem is with the lnbs, DPP require a powered switch, a regular DiSEqC switch is not externlly powered. You have to get a SW44 switch with external power source.

Hey Breck and Blnk. I think you guys are right. I will simply change the head to the quad feed and use the diseq switch. I think for future reference the single feed l.n.b. on the d/p plus are not compatable with external switches. It will cost about 65 dollars cdn to switch it over but alot less headaches!!!

I am sure you have done this, but I have read all your posts back to page 61 and haven't seen you mention the grounding of the disq switch. If it is not properly grounded it will make you chase your tail.

I have dishpro lnb's and have not problem with them, I know some people hate them, but if everything is grounded, it is just one less thing to give you a headache.

Also if you have low voltage, the switches will not work properly. There are some instances that a old DN reciever is placed in line just to power the switches and lnb's. I think you can also get a inline power supply.

Hopefully you will get this resolved, and I haven't added to your confusion.

    Thanks

Thats absolutely correct bill, the SW44 or SW64 switch is about the same cost as the lnbs but it must be powered by an addition coax cable running to it and must be plugged into a A/C outlet INSIDE. The reason for this is the DP or DPP piggy backs signals on a single or DPLNBF and you lose voltage, so the switch adds extra power/voltage to obtain the signal. Another solution is an Powered EMP or Spaun multiswitch.

Your choice, alot of possiblities but the cheapest solution is for 19.99 x2= 39.98 + 7.00= 46.68 plus free shipping for a "Y" adapter for 119/110 and 2 dual DSS "D" shaped lnb's. If you need the info PM me and i will give you that information. (there is no advertising or live links allowed any any forum)

Hope all this helps and thanks Bill and Breck for your expertise.

I plan to be here until the end of May. A friend of mine and myself are going to fish the striper derby in mid May. Lake Havasu. We have fished it for the last 3 or 4 years. Never come close to winning, but it is a great two days. The last two years we have come within 2 ozs of winning 1000.00. Maybe this is the year.
