Agreed. That's why I got into Coolsat at the start. They used to have a good reputation. This new group of coders will eventually improve and Coolsat will have an uphill ride to regain their previous reputation, but it has the chance of hapenning. Just takes time. You will probably see people right now switching brands, but if they do improve, people will return.

Re: Coolsat 5100 on the way?

I believe this is there IKS unit.....Also watch for add-on adapters for the usb units...
little birdie told me to watch the visionsat within the next few weeks also for IKS.....
Coolsat is gonna release IKS for the CS owners that want to buy the add-on adapter....
cost wise its still gonna be cheaper than buying either of the other 2 IKS units from what i heard from the birdie in california......FNW

I don't know about you, but my coolsat still have CNN, Blooberg, Weather channels. I think it is enough for me to wait for new bin.

I guess it's up to each individual. Depends on your patience.
If you could afford to buy another unit, I think using a different brand would at least provide you with the chance of at least one unit getting an update before the other.

The only thing I think I would consider if you were to buy different brands, is to research who does the coding for each brand. A lot of coders work with 2, 3 or 4 different brands. Like Coolsat coders also do Homesat, so support would be similiar.

    Hello CJC76

Where you been? Haven't seen you for a while. Or maybe my eyes have been next to closed with doing too many late nights.

I heard the same rumor about a Viewsat IKS/ Mpeg4 box (when needed) in the works. I have one contact thats says yes, but all the Viewsat forums say no way will they go IKS. Just rumors but you never know.

Hey guy's I did not venture very far ( wife has me chained to chair!! ) Anyways I haven't quite solved the D/P plus lnb's and standard lnb's. I have spent the weekend tied to this damn computer learning about switche's and lnb's. One thing I have learned is the diseq switch won't work with the D/P plus lnb's. The other is to switch out your lnb's with the standard kind, much easier to work with. Aparentely the plus lnb's can work with sw-21's if the settings are correct on the box. People have shown pictures of their dishes and their t.v.'s, very helpful. In otherwords I got the parts for what I need today but it's raining here, and I am not going out in the rain!!! I will let you guy's know what happens.

Blankstare & I have someone who was having the same problem and we tried a lot of different setups with no progress. We suggested he too try a new lnb. He did and everything is working fine. I would think this should solve your problem too. I guess the internal and external switches must be conflicting.

I forgot, I also have another box but I prefer the cs5 it is more user friendly. I agree the coder's will make a come back, and if they don't stop crying and go get something else!! Just my opinion.

What do you think these boxes will be worth when bev get's the card change done? I have read that as soon as the change is complete, they will go to nagra 3. I also read today that DN is going to implement a card change, and possibly nagra 3 at the end of the year.

It is going to be interesting to see if nagra is going to be compromised. They have if implemented in Europe and so far it has proven secure.

I guess if all this comes about, the games will REALLY begin.

You are right Breck, I spent about 10 min's reading all the posts I have missed. Changing the lnb's is the easiest and fastest way to solve the problem. I am very pig headed I know there is a way as soon as the rain stops here I will try what I got!!

Have you ever tried this setup with legacy twins? I heard they are more friendly to work with than DP's.

Agreed. I found the 6000 very easy to setup and run.
6100 was about the same with a few different things from the 6000.
The nfusion was a little more confusing at first glance, but Blankstare went on msn messenger and walked me through it all. But once it is setup, you don't need to worry about any of the menu stuff. I ve been going for 2 months now and haven't looked at the menu since the initial setup.
