    Really hard to say the way things are going these days. I had my 2700 for 2 years and its still being used by other family members over a year. Support for it is still fast at this time and unless FTA in general hits a big snag, I expect it to last a good while longer.

    IF you guys can give grades what would they be? mine are as follows:

    Sonicview = A
    ViewSat = B
    Pansat = C
    Captiveworks = D
    Coolsat = F

    Based on speed support is available.

    What you guys think? give your own grades so we all can make up our own opinion on a new mfr to buy

    I am planning to buy two can someone tell me which model of the SV to buy or are they all equal as far as support; also I want to buy ViewSat and which one more than likely have the longest support.

    Thank you

    I'm also in the market for 2,have done a lot of search. SV 4000 is a hot seller,so is the Viewsat ultra.You have to be very carefully from who you buy....alot of clones around!!!
    I'm still reading in other forums and maybe buying next week,when I'm sure of what i'm buying.

    How To Tell if you have a VS Ultra Clone

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Starting with the cardboard box the unit comes in
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    On the original:
    Dimensions are
    L= 36.8cm
    W=26.7cm
    H=7.8cm

    On the top of the box (lid), bottom left the logo with DVB DiSEqC 1.2”
    The image is not crisp on the original. It looks as if it was scanned and reprinted
    Yes, I said on the original, blurry.

    The serial number on the flap of the lid:
    Under the UPC code,
    S39F02U…
    Text is large and almost takes the length of the code.

    On the right side of the box,
    Bottom right,
    “MADE IN KOREA”

    CLONE
    Dimensions are:
    L=36.4cm
    W=26.8cm
    H=7.8cm

    On the top of the box ( the lid), bottom left the logo with DVB DiSEqC 1.2”
    The image is CRISP on the counterfeit. It looks as if it was an original print.

    The serial number on the flap of the lid:
    Under the UPC code,
    S39F02U…
    The sequence is identical but the text size is smaller than the authentic
    And takes less space under the UPC code

    On the right side of the box,
    Bottom right,
    “MADE IN KOREA”, with a sticker on top stating
    “MADE IN CHINA”

    I have a CS 5000 and am using a Dish5000 dish with a duel lnb. If I buy a viewsat ultra v2, can I use my dish or do I need to replace it? Also If I can use it, is the a aftermarket motor out there that will work with it?

    Viesat will work with your current set-up. A motor is only a good choice if you are using 1 dual polarity circular and linear lnb, the dish needs to be a minimum of 36" and you should only set it up with 1 stb, more than 1 will have conflicts.
