coolsat 6000 down

billo it seems like some went down earler in the month it that right???

 

hi, my bro is out of the country for a while and the day he left my coolsat had all scramble channels. so i put the keys for bell buh the channels are styll scramble.. i have coolsat 6000. is coolsat 6000 down or am i doing sumthign wrong. can sum1 plz help me. much apprecaited thanx.

 

Replacing the keys will not fix this. It is a MAJOR ecm and is going to take some time.

 

can you use a USB port with a nine pin serial port adaptor to load the Coolsat 6000 since most PC's no longer have the serial ports???

 

Yes but you need to install a usb driver for 9-pin

The New bins are out for the coolsat 6100 the 6000 should be out soon

 

The 8000 and 8100 will be next.
The 4000 and 5000 should be soon.
The 6000 will probably like before and be a couple days later. Purposely done to piss off those with clones.

 

Just my luck to have a couple of 6000's. Coolsat should offer a trade-in so legit 6000 owners can upgrade. Then they can discontinue the bins for the 6000's

I know what you mean, I was ordering on average 10 coolsats a month. My last two orders went to viewsat. I'm not even sure I want to deal with coolsat anymore unless a customer specifically asks for them.

 

It's that bad here, that the Coolsat dealers aren't even doing business. Order 6000's way back and received them 15 weeks later.
Ordered 6100 2 weeks ago and still haven't even acknowledged the order.

Contacted both Coolsat and Viewsat Canada to become a dealer, and neither bother to reply. Anal bunch.

 

I was doing some reading on the internet and they are saying that as far as the coosat 500 goes you just need to update the keys and then wait for the new bin to come out. But updating the keys should work until bin comes out. Has anyone else heard this?

 

I doubt it. If it goes down, they all go down.
