Bin 161 may be working for you but it would give me nothing . I had to reinstall my Bin 158 and although not perfect can get quite a few channels on Bev .
I am looking into getting coolsat 6000 box. new to this whole thing been reading up but so many threads hard to find what i want.. i know theres keys you need and these bin files i see everywhere what do i need to get the channels if i have a coolsat 6000 box and bell expressvu sat dish. is it just simple like punching in right keys with remote or do you need to plus into computers get programs files etc.. any help would be nice thanks a lot cheers
You need to hook up to your computer to update the bin file whenever an update is released. You don't need to enter keys usually. If you keep active on forums, you will see people mentioning turn off the autorolls and manually enter the keys. Don't worry about that until that time comes. Then you can learn that process. First you need a receiver, a loader for your pc to load the bins you download onto your receiver via your pc. Your best to get setup and ask questions as you go. Take it one step at a time. Telling you as much as we can know may overwhelm you to start.
Alrighty thanks for the info i was looking at a coolsat 6000... if i just want channels nothing fancy is this the best to get? so many different kinds i dont need recorders or anything ill probably get the 6000 very soon if i dont hear back then onto the loader
I own and sell receivers, used to sell alot of Coolsats, but I wouldn't recommend them anymore. Support has become terrible. I am cutting back on the Coolsats and starting into other brands. When you make your pick, you want to look at the brands with the best support. Meaning update bins provided the fastest. Jerry has mentioned Viewsat, sonicview and pansat as being the leaders lately. The better the support, the less downtime you would be looking at.
well i found pansat3500 or a coolsat 6000 sounds like you say the pansat be best way to go about it? they pretty much same price so it dont matter to me whatever be easier to deal with
Coolsat 6000 is discontinued so don't get it. If looking at Coolsat, your looking at the new models 6100, 7100, & 8100.
Hey Guys I am bearly learning and I have some questions. what do I need to buy to put a new bin file to my cs 6k box I have no idea of what to buy. can someone please let me know what is it that i need to get. thanks
Danny, your timing in not too good...everything was hit last night, here's what you need to do if and when a new BIN is released... These instructions are good, you need to use the latest bin and loader. The instructions refer to a older bin and loader, so make the adjustments. The site mentioned in the instructions has all the files and answers to any of your problems. They are very good over there. They pretty much have the coolsats down. If I were you,I wouldn't pay much attention to what is told you here now, there are too many people trying to help that don't know what they are talking about. I have just about had it here. Open a new file on your computer and name it FTA files. First you need to go to the Files Only section in the 6000 Forum You will need Proloader 2.4 save to FTA file. http://forums.f2atv.com/showthread.php?t=28159 You will need bin 100 (unzip) the original factory bin. Save to FTA file. http://forums.f2atv.com/showthread.php?t=35637 You will need the new current active bin which is Bin 144 today. http://forums.f2atv.com/showthread.php?t=127450 You will need to unzip the 144 Bin file and save in FTA file. Note the proloader will require the unzipped stb file for it to work. You now have all the tools to load your receiver and are ready to Continue; Loading New File To Coolsat 6000 * Power Off receiver using switch on back of unit & disconnect from TV * Connect receiver to PC using supplied cable & and plug in AC power cord * Turn receiver power switch back on. * Open up Coolsat Pro Loader File * Using browse option, locate and select **Coolsat 6000-100-STB file **This will load the original factory program to the receiver. You will see new files loading to 100%, and then old files erasing up to 100%. TOPCAT'S EXPLANATION> Click HERE * When complete, power off the receiver. * Disconnect the receiver from PC * Reconnect the receiver to your TV and turn power switch on. * Using the remote, select System Setting in the main menu, in the submenu select Database Reset, and then Factory Set, Press OK * When factory set is complete (language option screen appears), power off receiver and disconnect from TV. * Reconnect receiver to PC and switch power back on * Open up Coolsat Pro Loader File * Using browse option, locate and select from your folder the new STB file. eg. Coolsat 6000-144-STB Once again, you will see the new files loading to 100% and old files erasing to 100%. * When complete, power off the Coolsat and disconnect from PC * Reconnect to TV and switch power back on. * Using the remote, select System Setting in the main menu, in the submenu select Database Reset, and then Factory Set, Press OK * When Factory Set is complete, return to main menu. * In main menu select Installation, then Auto Scan. You will then need to select (example) 91.0W Nimiq as the satellite, and then select OK to run the scan. * Once complete, exit from Main Menu. * Watch TV J *Before connecting or disconnecting the receiver to or from the TV/ PC, you must ensure the power switch is turned OFF!!!
rumor has it that the new bin should be out very soon. As for anybody that doesnt have a back up, take my word for it, you should get one. Either Cable or subscribe to basic satalite. The major players are saying not to invest any more money until the future of FTA is more clear
