Ok... I've tried evrything I've been able to so far and my 6000 is still down. I entered the keys and it still shows scramble channel. Do i need to hook up the box to my comp? I tried but my comp. wouldn't recognize the box even when I did the auto detect. I am very new to this so if someone could tell me from start to finish what I need to do I would appreciate it more than you will ever know. Thanks ahead of time for any help guys.

and the quality is about 90%, but still i cant see all chanals like TSN, RDS, CNN, chanlas VU, LCN, etc.....
Can someone help me out? I will really appreciate.

You need to update your bin file to the latest one.
    Presently Coolsat is at 149.

You can get the bin files and instructions from my site here:

    http://www.myfriendsareyourfriends.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=34

These FTA receivers require some maintenance. You have to read the forums when they go down or if you think something isn't right.

Take the time to do a little research before you ask a question.
99% of the time, the question has already been answered many times before.

If you need more help, feel free to ask. I'm off to bed now, but there are many helpful people here.

If you have a Coolsat 6000, you need:

    Pro Loader
    Factory Bin 100
And latest bin which is now 149.

    Instructions are there.

Good morning, I am new to coolsat 6000, and I am ready to get started. I have my coolsat, laptop and connection cord. I have set the dish up on the roof also to the correct setting. This is a used 6000, there is no software. What do I do next.

Thanks so much for your help......newbie in need.

The bins referenced in the c/p below are old bins. There are the latest files for the coolsat 6000 at ftabins.com. You need to get all your files and then follow the instructions.

    Loading Instructions for Coolsat 6000

    C/P THANKS TO FURFACE

Open a new file on your computer and name it FTA files.
First you need to go to the Files Only section in the 6000 Forum

You will need Proloader 2.4 save to FTA file.
    http://forums.f2atv.com/showthread.php?t=28159

You will need bin 100 (unzip) the original factory bin. Save to FTA file.
    http://forums.f2atv.com/showthread.php?t=35637

You will need the new current active bin which is Bin 144 today.
    http://forums.f2atv.com/showthread.php?t=127450

You will need to unzip the 144 Bin file and save in FTA file.
Note the proloader will require the unzipped stb file for it to work.

You now have all the tools to load your receiver and are ready to
    Continue;
Loading New File To Coolsat 6000

    * Power Off receiver using switch on back of unit & disconnect from TV
    * Connect receiver to PC using supplied cable & and plug in AC power cord
    * Turn receiver power switch back on.
    * Open up Coolsat Pro Loader File
    * Using browse option, locate and select **Coolsat 6000-100-STB file

**This will load the original factory program to the receiver. You will see new files loading to 100%, and then old files erasing up to 100%.

    * Reconnect receiver to PC and switch power back on
    * Open up Coolsat Pro Loader File
    * Using browse option, locate and select from your folder the new STB file.

eg. Coolsat 6000-144-STB Once again, you will see the new files loading to 100% and old files erasing to 100%.

    * When complete, power off the Coolsat and disconnect from PC

Get a usb to a 232 cable adpter. Make sure to note if you have a straight thru 232 cable or a null cable and get the adapter that is appropriate.

Hi, I just added the latest bin (149) to my coolsat 5000 box, and I set everything up, i did this for the first time, but now i'm missing a whole bunch of channels on sats 110 and 119. I did an auto scan and it keeps leaving out all the Pay-Per-View movie channels along with some of the hbo's and starz. Can someone tell me if i'm doing something wrong, thanks.

Try doing a factory reset and scan again.
Report back if you get anything else.
