    Hi all,

Would like to find out if it is possible to transfer and consolidate a few of my music CDs into 1 DVD-R and still be able to play on DVD player (Assuming the DVD player support DVD-R).

    It is possible.

Easy way (may not work): Some DVD players are capable of playing back mp3 DVDs (data DVDs containing mp3 files). Rip + encode to mp3 and burn.

Difficult way (will work for sure): Author a video DVD containing the CD tracks as audio stream and something with low space consumption as video stream (heavily compressed video, still pictures, depends on the capabilities of the authoring software you use). One important details: Audio needs to be resampled to 48kHz. A good free program capable of doing this is foobar2000 (using SSRC resampler + noise shaped dithered diskwriter output; lowering volume and/or applying replaygain to prevent clipping/adjust volume is a good idea).

About DVD-V authoring details see other sub-forums.
