    parts of that are true...but...

ClonyXXL(I prefer Aray scanner my self)detects the copy protection that is on the disc so you know what datatype to select when using Alcohol 120, nero can back up the unprotected disc's.

Its not all that easy to backup computer games. Theres alot involved when making a backup and can be strenuous. Another factor is your type of burner.

Oh! I thought it was easy because I know that the ClonyXXL detects the encryption, then you can use Alcohol to set the .iso. But I never took that any further to burn it.

    Ok...here is how it works,

    First you need this:

    http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/clonyxxl.cfm

Then after installing the program, you just put the disc in the computer, start ClonyXXL, then configure the settings, after that, hit that big button (sorry can't remmber the name of the button). After it scans the disc, it will tell you what kind of encryption it has. After that, use Alcohol 120% and then use the guide that is on the first page of this thread, and you will be good to go!

    ;)

    @geestar20,

BTW...I also told Jizmak, that the pic in your sig isn't working...don't know if you know that or not!

    ;P

Allright now lets beginn, what programs are you using to make this backup?

NBA Live 2005 is Safedisc 3.20.022 protected

I am having the same problem trying to copy pc games, I use to use Alcohol 120 but the free trial run out and I dont have the money to purchase it, anyways I can back up ps1 games no problem and Alcohol was the best for that but I have not had the chance to try pc games with it yet so I dont know but I do know that Nero will not copy pc games it will say it did but when you put the disc in it says please insert correct disc or some kind of error.
I would like to know how to get around this as well, but as far as file copying issues you either copy the game to a virtual drive and then burn it to a disc or make back up using cue and bin files and then burn to a disc that way.

what program are you using -batmn419- and what settings are you using?

You need to give more info than just "I made and image but I can't burn"

Select Image Making wizard then set your Read speed to 4x

Now set your Datatype to Safedisc 2/3 and select Next then Start.

You will come across a ton of disc read errors which is totally normal so just let Alcohol do its thing. this process might take awhile depending on your drives read speed.

when the image is done dumping select your image (which should be NBA Live or somthing like this) and select Image burning wizard then Next.

Your Write speed should be set at 4x and your Datatype should be set to Safedisc 2/3, (leave everything else at default) and now hit Start and off you go.

post back your progress and lets see how it goes.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask...but after you have tried these settings LOL.
