    Hi people,

This may seem trivial but I have been having trouble searching for the answer.

Is it possible to take a DVD+R disk, burn an image file of it on my hard drive and then make a copy of that image file onto DVD-R media?

Would the change between DVD+R and DVD-R media adversley affect copying the disk?

    Thanks,

    Jackle

I don't know if this answers your question or not, but I use both + and - discs for copying and so far I haven't had any problems.

    Thanks for replying.

I am still not sure if that means that the image I have recorded onto my hard drive from a DVD-R disk can be recorded onto a DVD+R disk?

    Cheers anyway though.

Yes it will work, the data is all the same, just the way it is burned that is different.

No there will be no problem as the data will be the same and obviously you are writeing with a multi format drive which can handle this

    Thanks John,

    Yes I am using a DVD-R/DVD+R writer.

Thanks for confirming what Sly said. I now feel confident to start burning from one media specification to the other.

    Cheers!

Once the disk has been ripped and fried you can do a simple disk to disk copy: +/- format is irrelevant - no need to re-encode
