Just bought a DVD Dual Layer (Emprex) and trying to make a copy of a movie for backup purpose. Using Nero application that came with it and tried copying it but failed. Am I doing something wrong? The burner did not come with specific instructions. Just a beginner trying to learn. Please help.

Nero won't take off the copyright. Here is what you need:

    Dvd shrink

    Quality media

Rw's media to start with. This will save on coasters till you get it mastered.

That is all you need to start with. Your nero will usually perform great with dvd shrink . The Price?

    FREE!

Dvd shrink will compress those original dvd's and fit them down to size on a regual dvdr disc.It can also put it on a dual-layer disc.

You can also use dvd decryper - this is a more powerful ripper and has a burn engine. This program is also FREE. It is the one to use on difficult Movies that shrink can't get through.

Check out the guides here in these forums, make sure you get your settings right, and the quality media will help on errors. Burn slow when you start.

Just click on the blue links.

I am just using dvd shrink and nero, they are excellent programs and doing a fine job.A nearly identical copy.

    Good Luck
