I understand. I don't know much about it because when I first got my xbox I wanted to do the same thing but found it very difficult with everything you had to do and I was unable to hook up my xbox to my pc for whatever reason, plus I didn't understand the in's and out's of everything you had to do just to copy the damn game onto a blank disk, not to mention that I am a female and not very good at doing things like this. Therefore, I just bought a big HDD and I have numerous games on it for myself and my husband. I know you have to flash, and use something like nero to burn and god knows what else. I am sure it is very easy to do, just not for me. Good Luck!

I've tried several copy programs and not one will read xbox .xbe files. the only way to copy is to master FTP. I am still having problems but once you get it going you can copy from the Xbox to your PC CD-RW.

The X-BIT is an easy chip to install if you want to spend the $60-$70

After your xbox is modded you will need A program to connect your xbox to your pc for FTP purposes. FLASH FXP works the best and is designed to transfer xbox files. download it install it use it to transfer your games files from your xbox folder then you can backup your games using record now max making a data disk and theres no need to make a iso. you will need to network your pc and xbox with a cat 5 cross over cable or a straight cable if youre using a hub. If all that is alien to you search and read more about networking your pc and xbox at xbox-scene do a search for networking and you will find everything you need.

    hope that helps

The only way to copy XBOX games from the original disk is to FTP the files from the XBOX DVD-Rom drive. Once you have done that, you are home free. There is no other way to do it.

It's all here cpu. Do you have the time and the patience. It's easy for me to say, because I have all the time in the world, and I am not the least bit interested in xbox games, the challenge, which eluded me with PS2, is what I am interested in. Deb, you nearly got there, keep going, I am nearly there, and like a dog with a bone I won't give up

    Post script
It's ironic that this particular subject is continued, because of Greg3000's attempt to help, and the ridicule he sustained, by DJGEOJOE and Deb

Is it possible to take the xbox dvd drive then install it in your pc and then use nero or some kind of burning program to burn the dvd. What are the chances that this may work and has anyone tried this yet?

I'm thinking of buying and modifying an Xbox. How many games would typically fit on a 120GB hard drive? Thanks!

Well it all depends on the size of the games. Typically you can fit between 40-50 games on a 120GB HD. But, again this is all up to individual game size. Which can vary from 500MB to 5+GB. I had about 45 games on my 120. But I also had mp3's and divx movies on it too. I am now using a 200, which I have 68 games on it, with plenty of room to grow.
