I need to know how to copy xbox games. I've heard things that you need a FTp client and network your xbox to your computer....but i don't understand that. Could someone explain it to me step by step, that would greatly be appreciated. :) And do u have to have a modchip to play burned games...is there any way to play burned games without a modchip?

Quadratic went to alot of trouble to make that thread so we don't have to answer the same old questions over and over again.

    Read Quadratic's guide first:

    To copy your original game:

    1) Use the PhxHarddrive loader or DVD2Xbox applications. No FTP is required. Play the backup from the harddrive.

    2) Put the original DVD in the DVD-Rom drive and then FTP the game files to your xbox harddrive or to your PC harddrive. The game files can be stored on a blank DVD/CD. If you want to make a playable DVD then use xISO or Craxtion to convert the game files into an ISO file. Burn to DVD using Nero 6.

Didn't have a quick link to softmodding cause I don't use it, otherwise I would have posted it.

There are various exploits you can use instead of "hard-modding" your xbox, so..

    mod chip needed.. No

play burned games with no chip.. Yes

    :p

I see that we are talking about double layers, and they do have these burners out know. Does this mean that the problem is solved or will there still be a problem. I have been holding off buying a layer burner, but if it can be used to burn better copies, then I might actually think about the purchase. I know that these new "double burners" will alow twice the storage on a normale 4GB disc. If anyone has played with one, I would like your input on weather or not it is anygood, and if you have tryed it for games.

so far I've only run into about 3 or 4 games that I couldn't make fit onto a dvd5. I really don't see a need for a duel layer unless you really want one of the FEW games that can't be fitted on a dvd5 disk. The one thing that I find stupid is that there are people that really want to fit a certain game onto a dvd5 disk, but they don't want to delete any files to make it fit. They want to keep useless stuff in,like the japanese language videos.....like they're gunns learn japanese one day and give'er a whirl. Pure comedy I think.
