    Hi,
I was just wondering, how does the corporate world (ie DVD producers for movie companies) get such good quality on their DVD? I would assume they don't use software encoders, is that correct? are they hardware? If so, how do the hardware encoders work? Also, is it because they take the Raw footage and encode it to DVD? I know these may be noobie questions, but i was just curious.

    Thanks

    Chris.

i think they still use a pc....
    right ?

its because they took it from the original edited film.
and they tweak it. like FOX have their own custom matrix, which is used for high bitrate. there's more but i don't know too much

all it matters is getting the original footage.
    try googling :)

I tried googling it, however, i couldn't find the right search string
and so i didn't get any results. I just remember a while ago before i
left these forums, i remember someone mentioning that he worked in the
industry and he mentinoed something about hardware encoders.

    Thanks
