try the demo of em total video converter. I had some asf files that wouldn't play in any player. I use this program to convert them to avi. This is the only program that actually work for me, you might want to give it a try.
hey there thanks for that. solid app, but no joy. tried to convert to many types to file and render with various players, but nothing. seems the file is just too corrupted to ever play again!!
it's an asf.. could be one of about 50 proprietary codecs in there.. m4s2 is a likely candidate .. does vlc not play it? 248kb's seems awfully small for a video file.. like 1 frame maybe?
recovered video after a format is very hit and miss.. bad luck.. i giess you could try some recovery software 9majorgeeks and hunt around and try stuff) but if any of the file has been overwritten in the menatime.. which is quite possible.. then it's gone.. have you tried loading it into avidemux ?,, no idea if the doze version supports asf.. the linux one does.
