Does anyone else have problems w/ DVD players playing converted DVD's when using ConvertXtoDVD? I have created the VOB files using the converter and then used teh program to burn to a dvd. No errors occur, however the new dvd will not play on my dvd player, giving me a disc read error. I have also used DVD shrink to reprocess the files after being converted, but get the same result.

The issue is not media, as this is teh same media that I use all the time w/o any problems whatsoever.

Am I missing a setting or is there a trick that I need to do in order to get appropriate dvds?

I scoured the forums, so I hope this is not a repost. Thanks in advance!

does the disk play on your computor? also why don't you just let convertxtodvd to burn the movie that you have converted? is the movie converted to pal or ntsc? a little more info would be nice!

As I stated, I was allowing both CovertXtoDVD to burn my movies and failing that, I was trying to reprocess the VOB's w/ dvd shrink. Anway, I figured out my problem. Do no allow covnertxtodvd to "auto select" NSTC or PAL for you. Always set it specifically on the type you want. I appreciate the replies!

i let convertxtodvd to do both, and my dvd's come out great, i had one that was a pal and it came out great also, it was a img file, do you have it set as to make a menu at the start of the movie? that might be your problem, also what kind of media are you using? and i don't let the program auto select, so it made the dvd's pal? also if you have your tv setting set for the wrong one it will streach the picture.

I appreciate the replies. As I stated before, it was selecting PAL for me automatically which would not play in my DVD players, but I have the problem resolved now. I appreciate the help!!

ALWAYS lock down the NTSC setting option so you get NTSC-not PAL-I've never had any problems.
