oh, i c... well since the cpu's only 40 buks ill grab one f them, then if im still not happy ill get lots of other parts cuz 30fps is enought for me thanks sammorris
actually i gots another question for you lol. if i buy some artic silver 5 ans a few fans to keep the cpu below...say...50C, whats the max overclock you think i could get with that?
hey, whata you think about this? MSI PM8PM-V Micro ATX Motherboard http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MSI-PM8PM-V-...temQQimsxZ20081119?IMSfp=TL081119125001r15646 It supports AGP 8x, plus the cpu i got now and also support dual core, so i can get that, and use my current cpu until i can get a dual core whata you think ? w00t
A Pentium D is a dual core. That board will support core 2 duos, but only if it's a certain revision. If it's off ebay you may end up with an early revision board that can't have them (even with a BIOS update)
or would any of these do? http://www.pricewatch.com/motherboards/agp_8x.htm srry its just that i can buy one tomorow and im rushing around trying to find one thats suitable with my parts and a decent dual core. about that first one, if i got it and a dual core pentium D, what kinda increase of FPS do you think id get with COD4, + the sapphire HD3850 on a 500W PSU tanks!
That youtube link is for an AMD motherboard, you can get an AMD chip if you liie, but that socket (754) doesn't support dual cores, only single cores, so there's no point.
It is a dual core CPU. I assume you mean would it be as good as a Core 2 Duo. Short answer, no it wouldn't. Nowhere near.
could you guess how many more fps i might get in a game such as cod4? if i can get it to 60, im very hapy =) im just lookin for real cheap upgrade, so would you recomend it over a intel celeron D 2.80GHz?
I would certainly recommend a Pentium D over a Celeron D, but your power supply may not be able to take it if it's weak, the Pentium Ds use an absurd amount of power.
ah, well i have a 2 week old OCZ technology 500W PSU. um, also, if you could, would you be able to mabey show me one of these pentium D's? with a 512KB L2 cache? thanks sammorris =)
