it's the same rules for everyone..and speaking of that, your total sig area is far outside the limit set by the rules.
I give up people. I've been trying and trying to keep these forums friendly to those on dial up as well as us mods that have to wade through tons of threads every day but I'm getting nowhere. I've noticed that most of the folks I have to ask to change their sig are members, seniors and addicts. I shouldn't have to nag these people about their sigs but I've had to do that and I'm not doing it anymore. These are people that should know better. To those who cared enough to keep their sig in spec - high five from Neph. For the rest, I know this sounds harsh but thanks for nothing. I'm disappointed so many of such high rank could care less and because of that I'm just about ready to request that the sig field be reduced to something much simpler and much easier to police. If I'm going to enforce a rule I'm going to enforce it as evenly as I can and I don't have time to do that with the sig rules. Rules are rules and they're there for a reason whether you agree with them or not. I tried to do this nicely but it isn't working.
if its such a big problem.Why not just take sigs out of ad.Then the pages will laod double fast on dial up.I know youll sya but its not that fair on the people who keep in the lines but heh LIFE IS NOT FAIR
neph i been trying to help you as you know some got a free pass from there doctor to be able to use a large sig file...in there sig... because there gifted,meaning there special...
i think it would be good if when you go onto the afterdawn forums you can select your speed (of afterdawn automatically detects your connection speed), so that if your internet is slow it shows no signitures but if yoru internet is fast it shows the signetures. maby drd will love this idea so much...
i personally hate seing moderators being shot down in flames for trying to help people, this is one of those ituations, i honestly must say, it is rather appaling that even after being asked nicely, members prefer to take their own initiative to bend the rules to suit themselves. i have a solution, similar to the one about not having sigs at all, it is to have sigs, but disable the use of images.??? text, no matter how long, is fast to load, but is easier enforceable than images sort thing, if you catch what i mean. also if necessary, i like the idea to banish sigs forever. it would make the job of moderators a whole lot easier to sift through the crap instead of stuff. i dont usually get peeved in forums, but again, its appaling. and as neph said, congratulations to those who comply. AND BE WARY, THIS POST IS NOT TO BEGIN A FLAME WAR!!!
The other thing I suggest is on other sites they have already put limits on the size of the image that is going to be uploaded on the sig part the post. You can just put a limitation device on it and everyone will be forved to obey the rules regardless. And if they don't like it they can just as the others have said not have one.
We're trying to work something out to make them easier to police without having to get rid of them entirely
give addicts some secret police powers and let us delete overly-large sigs from individual posts until a mod gets to it
