I bought the Gigabyte DVD dual go-w0404a two months ago.
I was trying to update the firmware version from 039 to 040. My computer
crashed during the operation due to an electrical blackout in the area where
i live. From then on it was impossibile for my computer to recognize the dvd
dual go-0404a. I think i need to flash the bios of this peripheral but i
don't know how to do that because when i start up the computer it doesn't
    recognize the dvd dual go-0404a.
    Can you plase help me?
    Greetings and best holidays wishes

Ouch.... usually when that happens ... your drive is toasted.... the "solution" would be to reflash the bios to the older one first and then update again but if your machine doesnt even detect it in the first place you dont have a hope of flashing it.... is it too late to return?

Thanks for your answer. I solved the problem by using the TMKFLASH program in dos mode. I creared a boot disk and then i extracted the TMKFLASH and firmware in the same root directory. It took me an entire afternoon to give the program the correct parameters but at the end i was successful. Now everything is ok !!!
