when you go into Nero, and you choose a compilation type, you need to select 'DVD-Video'.

That's a different error altogether. Those error re compliance means there's something not quite right with the video files. You need to redo the video files. Or download (free) vobblanker and run it thru the directory where that movie is (hopefully vobblanker will correct the problem with video files). If not you need to redo the copy/rip of the movie in question.

If you use vobblanker use the directory vobblanker creates for burning thru nero

hiya... i'm having the same problems you had while burning DVD-Rs . Nero can simulate perfect, but once it starts the real burning, i get the same message "Invalid Field in Command". And when I try to record without simulating first, it burns up to around 30% and i lose my disc. And I CANNOT burn DVD-Rs by using the Pinnacle program supplied with the DVD-Drive.... I have already succesfully burned ONE DVD with my current drive, shortly after acquiring it (I used Nero and it worked without a problem). After the problems started, I tried recording through InstantWrite (as if the blank DVD were just a normal folder where I moved files into through Window Explorer) and I didn't get any problems recording, but the DVD was unreadable. I can write CDs withou any type of problems. My drive is a Samsung TS-H552U. I also has a version of DVDCSS Region Free installed on my computer, but i have already uninstalled it. Please help, I've already lost a couple of medias. Here is my error Log from Nero:

    @phildias -

i've edited out your serial number...

    - update to 7.0.1.2 from here - http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-up.php

    - US07 is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2011

    - DMA needs to

be ON, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - 512MB is what i consider the minimum for dvd work.

you should get more memory, and for now you're gonna have to dig deep to close

down as much as you can to free up more memory

    - 4486MB is burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space

    - oh dear they don't sound very good, try decent media

    - see previous comment

I'm doing all the changes you told me to, but I just have one question: the tutorial you suplied to turn on DMA instructed me to UNINSTALL my Pimary and Secondary IDE Channels, but they are already set to "DMA if available". Do I really have to uninstall these components? I'm already downloading DVDShrink, Nero 7.0.1.4 and the latest firmware for my drive. And I am also on my way to hacking some files to have at least 512mb free. Thx for all your help, I'll keep in touch, believe me. =] Oh yeah, and another thing: i'm going to try using a DVD-R from HP. Hope it works! I really really do =]

Oh, one other thing, just a little more info. Here are the readings I got from DVD Identifier:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    [ DVD Identifier V4.2.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The DVD-R Labeled LG:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The DVD-R without any kind of label (hahaha):

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:MCC 02RG20 ]
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this helps on solving the damn problem =]

    - foul utter rubbish landfill media

    - have heard of them, but can't remember if they're any good

    - top notch discs, however as you say thay have 'no label' who's to say you'll be lucky enough to have MCC discs again

hey man.... Here's my latest error log from Nero... I already installed the latest firmware, latest Nero and I have already freed up around 700Mb and still no joy.... The attempted recording was made with the MCC media. Oh, and I wasn't able to set my DiskPeripheral to DMA. The tutorial you sent me told me to uninstall the Primary and Secondary IDE Controllers, but they are already set to "DMA if Available".. Do I really have to uninstall them?
    Here's the log:

yes you need to follow the DMA fix properly. also you have virtually no free memory out of the worfully inadequate 256MB, plus you're trying to do 8x on top of all that

I'm afraid to say this, but you're going to have to listen to my buddy (creaky) per DMA issues, slowing down to 4X and releasing more memory if you can. Something is not right above -- what are you trying to burn, I'm curious? Nero stated that it's "invalid track info" and your burner is having an "invalid field command".
