If I was you I would be more concerned with memory at this point. This is just M.H.O. You are tasking the meager 256 you have to the max and virtual pretty much. Windows is not good about releasing tasked memory when its needed. I say the first thing to do is find out what type mem you use and get at least another 256. With it being so cheep now get more if you can. I run 1 gig mem in all my comps but my notebook and it runs 512. Getting ready to put another 512 in it for total of 1 gig.

I suspect this is not the problem with your burning though. Just needed and might be. I suspect the problem is with the media you are using. I see you have the newest firmware for the drive. It stil might not have write stratigy for the media you are using.

and....on top of that, your drive not being detected as DMA is a hardware issue...most likely the drive since your optical drives are being listed with DMA.

Add more memory first, then tackle the other issues later.

OK, then, I guess I'll just have to not be cheap for a couple of minutes.. Hahahaha....
Thanks everyone, you guys, you've all been really great helping me out!
I guess my DVD burning will have to stay on hold for a little while then, but whenever I get the chance, I'll buy some RAM and try to burn another DVD... And if I get any error messages during the burn, I'll kick all your asses for making me spend unnecessary money!!!! LOL!! Just kidding!!! Hahahaha....
    Thanks a lot, guys!
    Cya soon!

Just passing by to say that I stole some RAM from my brother's computer, and now I'm operating on 384MB and I was able to burn a DVD-R perfectly on 2x... I still haven't ventured burning at higher speeds, but at 2x, everything went fine... Thx a lot for all the help, you guys! If I need anything else, I'll be sure to call!
