I've always burned DVDs from another DVD. There are some files that I'm downloading from a web site which contains TV and radio broadcasts and some documentaries. The author grants permission and they are not encrypted. I download to a file with Quick Time. I want to put the downloads on disks but I don't know how to do it from a file.

What's the file extension - mov?
You can convert with DivXtoDVD - free and supports several different formats. Here's a link.

You can then burn those files from DivX with your burning program of choice.
