I have magix 11 and sony vegas 7.

whenever I want to cut out part of a video, I have to cut it out and then encode, or render the file.. and it compresses it again.. and takes a while to finish.

is there a faster way to crop a file? it can be an uncompressed file, I don't care if it's the same format, size.. everything.. I'm just trying to cut out certain parts in a video.

If it's an mpeg file use VideoReDo. You can cut out whatever you like and save it to a new file within minutes. Frame accurate too.

If it's avi use VirtualDub. Cut the parts you don't need (not frame accurate- you can only cut on key frames) and then select Direct Stream Copy for both video and audio. Again, a new file within minutes.
