I'm running out of space with all of the junk I have on my hard drive and want to start all over. The problem is that when I restart I'm afraid I am going to lose important software like internet and everyday subscribed software. Is there a custom way of reformatting a hd so I can choose what to get rid of and what not to get rid of?

either save info on an usb memory stick, another hd or a cd\dvd disc before formating the hd.
