I was trying to backup a DVD, but I got a Cyclic Redundancy Check error. I am using DVD Shrink and Nero to so the backup.

I have searched the web for causes of a CRC, and everything I have read points to hard drive problems. I would think the problem is related to the DVD I'm trying to back up since I have been able to successfully back up other DVDs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Danny

That problem is usually caused by a dirty or damaged original dvd disc. Check the original for finger prints or excessive scratches. It could also be caused by corrupt data on the original that may play OK but won't let you rip the disc.
