alright, I have a sound blaster 5.1 live. It works fine, but...when I play rise of nations, it just crashes half way into the game. I know it is the soundcard, because I have switched to my crappy onboard sound and RoN works fine. the only problem is that it wont work as 4 channel sound, and kills my frames in all my other games. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions, other than disabling each device when I want to play a certain game
Well he's got the SoundBlaster 5.1 Live. Not an audigy. In RoN does it stabilize if you just disable the EAX? A lot of games tend to be a lot more stable with that disabled (still running hardware mode but just without EAX)
1st comment. My computer is no longer bleeding edge. A friend of mine just got the parts i for his new computer:AMD Athlon 64 FX-51, Gigabyte nForce3 150 GA-K8NNXP-940 mobo, 512mb ddr400 muskin registered (for now, says hes goign to upgrade later) BUT HE SKIPPED ON THE VID CARD! A measly radeon 9800 pro (not really..still $290)...lol...i am urging him to just go all out and get a 9800XT!! As for the RoN issue? I shall try that out!_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Intel D875PBZ mobo Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHZ (800 MHZ FSB) 1 GB (2x512) Corsair XMS DDR PC3200 (DDR 400) (Dual Channel config of course...)
