hello, I gave a fully functional nokia dbox2 to a mate to see if it would work on his cable. It worked at his house perfectly until he bypassed the signal amplifier I use to feed to the dbox. The channel froze and disappeared. When I put back in the ampilifier and rescanned it picked up all the channels but I am unable to view any of these channels nor does it give me a planner for them. Any idea what I've just done or any ideas how to fix it, I'll be out of pocket for a new dbox if I cant get this fixed. Its running on sportster 1.7+ uk 05, nokia dbox2 in neutrino, connected to N*L cable in Dublin
BER; 100 SNR; 61000/62000 erratic SIG; 44204 What does these symbols mean?? BER jumps between 70 and 130 on the blacked out channels, SNR and SIG the stay as the valid channel...
The signal strength is ok. Maybe your mate killed the scart socket or there is a hardware fault inside the box. Unplug the box and try the other scart socket. Its not a good idea to twiddle with the scart plug if the box is powered.
I swapped the scart lead over, no luck. It must be a hardware fault as you say, the complete event list for all channels comes up when using both scart sockets but most channels are still blacked out with no sound. I have an identical dbox2 and it works absolutely fine using the amplifier etc.. Where do I look next???
If you get EPG the emulator is not working. Check if a emu is switched on. You can also check if the right ucode version is selected. You can also try to reflash the box. Thats the easiest way to get rid of any misconfigured option.
sorry I'm a little lost, how do I chek if the EMU or UCODE is turned on?? I'm kinda new to this game...
