It looks like wrong inserted batteries or empty batteries.

It will not work on analouge you need a basic digital package. The link you have supplied above indicates that the Starview and Eurovox will not update codes this is a lie as they will once they have the right firmware loaded.BTW this guy also say the information is hard to come by on the internet I think if you ask mgb17 this is not the fact.

You wrote something about save at the remote in a previous posting.
You have to press ok after a selection.

Hey thanks for your very prompt replies. How can I definitely recognize a digial wall plug from an analogue one? It might also be that a previous tenant of my apartment had nt* digital, then closed the contract, and now I just have the standard package due to this. How would I know?

A digital box should work at a NTL feed for a analogue subscription.

    Cool thanks.
Does it mean I should be able to watch all channels (including digital ones)?
Do you think I should get a Starview or Dreambox?

As pointed out, you do not require a digital subscription for a DBox to work. An analog tv subscription is fine, as long as NTL is sending a digital signal in the user's area (e.g. if Digital TV services and/or NTL broadband is available in the area).

    Evening all,

Just wondering does anyone know the frequency for LFCTV.
In galway on NTL MMDS using a dreambox.
From searching on the forums I have been trying 394/6887 but no luck.

Can you even get it here?

    Any help appreciated.

    It depends on your skill.
Some blokes are saying its childs play. Others are saying its so hard to click more than 1 button and learn a few simple things.

I would doubt if the liverpool FC channel is available on MMDS. I can pick it up here in waterford on digital cable.

That would probably explain why my searches couldn't find LFCTV.

Looks Like I'll just have to do without.....

As always folks, thanks for your quick and expert responses!

Well I'm definitely not a RTFM type of guy, but mostly I'd look for two things:
    1) I have some experience with Linux but I have no experience in setting up this type of boxes, so I'll perhaps need a bit of howto guidance. Plus I live in Ireland, so I'm not sure if the same settings would work fine here as in the UK.
    2) As soon as it's correctly set up, I just don't want to keep going back to change the settings, unless the codes need to be update (hopefully not that often)

mgb17, would you be able to suggest a box?

You have to flash a image for dreambox and you have to upload a cables.xml via FTP.
If you don't know what ftp is and you are not willing to learn 2 or 3 network basics its maybe too hard.

Do you mean an iso? Is it a Linux image?

All right, I'm pretty cool with it, I actually run a dedicated FTP.
Just one thing: what sort of data does that XML file contain and does it need to be updated often?
