    Help Please!!!!

Hi guys, i have a sagem dbox with one flash chip, this bloody thing is doing my nut, for some reason it won't flash using IFA, when i plug it in the LCD shows betaresearch on the top line and digital broadcasting solutions on the bottom line, and just keeps rebooting over and over and over, i really have no clue whats up with it,

Was wondering if anyone has had this problem, and knows hoe to solve it, Thanks

    Ignoring all preconditions doesn't help.
Read a dbox2 flashing guide and use IFA.

thanks for the reply, but i don't think i have ignored anything, have read several tutorials i have found and followed them to a tee, but still can't get the box to flash, it, just keeps rebooting over and over, with the message betaresearch, digital broadcasting solutions.

is there anyone in the cork area that could give me a hand with this thing, i would be much obliged, just send me a private message and i'll get back to ya, thanks

Check the log output in the IFA window.
Its always a good idea to use a additional nullmodem cable.

is there a booster i could use to increase the signal in my house ? i use a dreambox dm and there are 2 of them recieving from nt hell in dublin, the problem is the one furthest away recieves less channels for some reason.

although i am not complaining its just a little niggle that i would like to resolve.

    thanks

Check first if you got an combiner from Ntl.
If you read TAP at the output of a splitting device replace it with a real splitter.

The normal slx booster is not so good. There is a gap between 230 mhz and 470 mhz.
The SLX Gold Plug Thru support the full range and should be buyable via ebay for around 15 euro.

The yellow brick has minimum 12db gain and that overrun the tuner in normal circumstances.
The yellow brick is good if you have long cables and a 4 way splitter for instance or a extremly bad signal.

There is simply a hardware fault.
What is the history of this box.

I think it is a sky box office channel, no EPG on it, they might be just testing, tends to be the same film run over and over for days. since there is no proper epg you cannot easily tell when it is going to start/end. been going on weeks now.
