Hi dbox gone down again in dublin on MMDS and Cable

 

Hi, has anybody ever have any trouble copying files to the /var/keys directory? I connect fine using FlashFXP and I'm allowed to copy files to /tmp but it won't let me copy Keylist.txt to /var/keys. I've tried both dbox and dbox2 as passwords when logging in as root.

I put new keylist on 3 box's this morning. All worked fine. Then they went off at lunch time.
has this happen to anyone else?

Delete the original Keylist.txt in Var/Keys and then transfer the new file in there. Not into the temp folder.

 

I'm on N*L digital (Dublin) and when I added the new keyfile last night all was fine, for about 2 hours. Then it went off again. When I came back from work about 30 mins ago, having left the box on all day, it was still down (didn't auto roll). Looking at it in Filezilla, I could see that the keyfile.txt was empty - filesize 0. I replaced it with the same keyfile I'd put there last night, restarted evocamd, and all was well again. But for how long?

Thanks to kilters for pointing me in the right direction with the keyfile, and I have already set auto update to 2:

# AU
# 00 is ignored (default)
# 01 enable AU
# 02 AU Auto
A: { 02 }

I'll see now how long this works for, perhaps the next update will fail and the keylist.txt file will be wiped again. Has anyone any ideas why this happened?

 

I copied the keylist.txt file across to my xbox which replaced the old one last night.
I didn't change anything on the Nagra Rom settings.
Came in after work just now and turned on the xbox and everything was working fine.
Checked my Nagra Rom settings and they were all enabled.
So I disabled all except Nagra Rom 7, restarted the Evocamd as was said earlier in the thread and all the channels stopped working.
I re-enabled them again and restarted the Evocamd still not working
So I copied across the keylist.txt file again and everything is fine now.

So I suggest not to disable any of the Nagra Rom settings.

By the way I am using a Nokia dbox with the Sportster Image.

 

My dreambox started working once I copied in the keylist file.

One question I have is how do you disable the different Nagra Roms? Thankfully I didn't need to disable mine to get the box working however I would like to know how to, for again.
I couldn't see any options to do this.
I use DCC to FTP the box.

If you delete rom10.bin in var/scce rom10 is disabled. If there is no rom10.bin in var/scce rom10 is already disabled. Got it?

where would i find nagra roms ??

followed the instructions to the letter...all except

"disable all nagra roms except nagra rom 7"
(as you can see above i do not even know where they are to disable them)

changed to evocamd and rebooted the box

all is working fine.

hurrah !!

just reading other posts i am worried that the box will go off and not autoupdate.

i would like to check which nagra roms are disabled and which are not.... for future info and for feedback here.

hence my original question " where would i find nagra roms ?"
