Did you do a scan when it went down?

If so it could have scanned wrongly. Try again, or get a new service.xml file

I have several blade trinity final nokias on this setting and they are all fine. It does scan in bad codes again, but as long as a good one is there it is OK. My mate had it set to 01 and had more keys scanned in today than me. The autoscan is handy since you should only have 1 digit to enter.

People on {00} do you have to enter the entire codes?

    Hi Rickyrat

Go to any movie channel and hit the blue button on your remote, I think it is number 5 on the list.

hello guys n gals....got a Nokia d-box and last night most of the channels went off. after starting at number 1 and flicking through i have found only the channels that you would get on a freeview available.
three scans later and still the same. when i reboot it says Sportster.
What is a flash btw? Do i have to connect this to my computer and download something or is it just a matter of changing some codes? any help would be appreciated. I live in Gateshead Tyne and Wear if you need that info too. As you see im a total newbie...box was given to me about 6 months ago so no literature came with it
    Thanks
    Gords

I have just tried manual update as advice without any luck..

I was advised to change my code from (5401 00 067AF388D22415FD ; ROM7 AU Key Time Tue Apr 8 17:52:53 2008) however I have not got the codes you stated.
On mine I have 8 lines of codes – I tried to change on of them however when I did change it and pressed the home button (so it prompts me to save) it did not ask me to save and then it revered back to its original number as if it’s locked for saving?

Code I was asked for to change does not seem to appear on my key-list N 5401 00 067AF388D22415FD ; ROM7 AU Key Time Tue Apr 8 17:52:53 2008
I was advised to change to this N 5401 00 067AF388D22415F5 ; ROM7 AU Key Time Tue Apr 8 17:52:53 2008…..but when I change it reverts back to it original code.

Any advised would be much appreciated.
I am new to this... I do have a cossover cable, but dont know where to start from.

yes they do, but I find it easier /faster to copy/past whole new keys in file on PC & send it over to dbox, as cable is always plugged in dbox & connection is on all time..! ;-)

Don't press the 'Home' button to exit, press the OK, it will then ask you to save changes and it will record your change. Then just reboot. This is simple and it works.

Can anybody explain to me how DBOX's which were previously autoupdating the keys suddenly stopped, did NTL's delivery mechanism change. If so then how did subbed boxes continue to work without being replaced?

Also when the new keys are posted, where do they come from, are the available from a subbed box?

The delivery/keyroll update changed. The subbed boxes have different software, AFAIK it is not open source so not readily known. Some other boxes handled it though, the new starview, but they are not open source either.

They U*C guys obvviously have all the current boxes and are trying all sorts of different keyroll methods with the aim of knocking out illegal boxes. This will give illegal ones a bad name. Many seem to have them now, so they must be getting a lot of cancelled subscriptions to sports etc. it is worth their while investing in methods to knock out illegal ones, or at least make them hassle to use. It costs say €20 for your sub fee to sports. Now if you have to spend 5mins a day updating your box how much is your time worth? Adds up to over 2 hours per month, spent looking for new codes and entering them.

    They cannot change the keyroll methods too much or it will knock out their own subbed boxes, these rolls do affect many subbed ones and they must be getting loads of legit customers ringing. People who have no problem with their subbed box should still ring them and complain ;

Anyway a new emu is being developed in linux right now! I think a beta is released today. Then coders need to put it in an image

The new starviews work fine, you can check the keys on them. On dboxes you can also check the keys, if they come in correctly. I am not sure if there is another way to generate them from a subbed box. I think there might be something similar to a keygen for them.

I added some info to the previous guide for manually entering keys, this was intended for some mates with my particular blade image (some may have it, usually has the "cable guy" on the boot screen), others might have differing names on the menus.

Turn to RTE2 and leave it there.
Press dbox, then go to all-in-wonder menu. If it says evocam you are fine, it probably will. If not go down to gbox and press ok until it says evocam. Now press home and reboot.

While still on RTE2 press the blue button, if you can see tuxbox commander then you are fine, if not it must be turned on, so press home.
    1. press dbox
    2. select settings.
    3. go to key or keybinding setup (something like that)
    4. go to the "user menu blue"
    5. go to a blank space, maybe 4 or 5, and press ok until "plugin" appears. if you go to far just keep pressing and it will appear again.
Now tuxbox commander will be available.

daily update codes are found here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/531363

Usually only one digit is wrong in the first line.
Your dbox should autoupdate with this codes almost perfectly, you usually only need to change one number. If not you need to put in the full 2 codes. It can be easier to leave it on RTE1 for 20mins then turn to RTE2 and do the guide.

    THE GUIDE
NOTE: When I refer to scroll in text below, I mean using the Toggle buttons that are nearest around the OK button on the remote control, the button below the OK you use to scroll down, the one above use to scroll up and down, the buttons to the left & right you use to move left & right.

***If you make a mistake and you want to go back to the start, press the home button and don't save changes*****

. To get started follow instructions below:

    1
.Turn to RTE2 Press the blue button and you will be in the features menu, scroll to Tuxbox Commander, press OK.

You should now be looking at the files on the D Box.

    2
. Scroll to VAR and press ok, If you don't see VAR, scroll up to <DIR> in the upper left of the screen & press ok, if you still don't see VAR scroll to the next <DIR> and press ok, keep doing this until VAR appears on the screen

    3
. When you find the VAR file and you press OK, scroll to Keys & press OK

    4
. Scroll to Keylist.txt and press 4 on your remote control. ***It is important that you don't press OK when you scroll to keylist.txt , you must press 4 in order to edit the code that will appear. If you pressed OK in error , just press the Home button and start again.

    5.
After pressing 4 you should be looking at a screen with /var/keys/keylist.txt at the top, 4 or 5 codes in the middle and numbers 1 to 9 at the bottom.

    6.
Now you need to scroll to the code that you are going to change,

e.g the incorrect code is probably as follows:

    N 5401 00 627030D925A91D15 ; ROM7 AU Key Time Tue Apr 8 17:52:53 2008 and we need to change it to
    N 5401 00 627030D925A11D15 ; ROM7 AU Key Time Tue Apr 8 17:52:53 2008

At the start I gave a link to recent codes, http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/531363 the digit changed on yours might be different, you can ignore the time & date and ROM number
in future you may have to change more digits, and/or the second line of code. in which case you must pay attention to the 01 and 00 on the linked page and the N 5401 00, N 5401 01 on your lines of code
(if other codes are present just ignore them, no need to change or delete.)

    7.
When you have have scrolled to code you want to change press OK, When you press OK, the code becomes slightly larger and the first digit changes colour to red, this is now your cursor

    8
. Scroll to the digit you want to change, and then use the numbers on your remote to change that digit to whatever character you want, e.g. if you want to change the digit to 3 , you press the number 3 button four times until 3 appears, the press ok. The same would apply if you want to change it to 4, you press the number 4 button on your remote four times and press OK. if you only have to change numbers you can just press up or down to go up and down numbers.

    9
. When you have changed the digit to the new one, press the Home button, it will ask you do you want to save changes, if you are happy with the new change, scroll to yes and press OK.

    10
. You should now have changed the code, to get back to the TV screen, press home.

    11
. In order for the changes to work you need to reboot, leave it on RTE2 press the D box button and scroll to reboot and press OK. When it reboots you channels should be back. Change to RTE1 to check it is working

    ------------------------

If you want to still use gbox, e.g. for a chirpy sagem then you need to do all the above, except leave on gbox. Now instead of changing keylist.txt change a file called nagra in the same folder.

Hi Lads. Quick question I have a friends dbox 2 that he bought. he asked me to have a look at it. Couple of problems it hasn't scanned in 7 months (thats the last date on the key codes when I went in to have a look) but it is picking up RTE 2 and a couple other stations. Can someone advise how I can get this going as I have put in the new codes manually but nothing is happening (the old dates remain when I change the code)all the channel lists are there but no picture.
    Thanks

    Rascal,
I am afraid this is a problem we are all having at the minute.. Your box is probably fine (config-wise) but "somebody" keeps changing the keys, which is causing you to have just the few channels..

Let me guess .. you have RTE2, TV3, but not RTE1 and alot of others..

whats the image?, and is it set to evocam? most of the guides and advice here is for evocam, read my last post if he is on nokia. Or you could backup your own image and flash it on.

beside evocam, you should see either activated or inactive. If not, they may be classified above the text evocam.

With the channels, it looks like they have rolled the keys just a few minutes ago so you will be down to just the few again, unless you have a fix for that :p
