If you are still manually updating then this may help a little.

When the keys roll go in and delete keylist.txt. Turn on to a FTA and back to a pay station. Now a new keylist.txt is created. Go in and edit it. Turn 00 and 01 at the start of the codes to 10 and 11.

Reboot and you get 2 more codes. change these to 20 and 21. Now reboot again. Now you have another 00 and 01.

Now with all these codes infront of you it is easy to determine the correct code. 1 digit should be wrong in 3 lines. You can even figure it out from 2 lines of codes.

I am not sure if this will work on all images/settings. some might delete the 11 10 codes. But it saves you having to write anything down. I had new codes in 5min doing this yesterday.

Looking for the fix for dbox, followed your link and checked in the dbox section, but cant seem to find the link.

Has anyone got a link to the fix, think it is nagrarom7.bin

Thanks a million ruprect, this worked like a dream. As it happened, my code was only one digit out but I re-set it and now I'm up and running again. I definately owe you a pint, or given your username perhaps you would prefer a DVD of Dirty Rotten Scoundels :)

Just update Sagem Dbox2 with bluepeer v 1.0 already installed with the new nagrarom7.bin file. Used filezilla to ftp file all seems to be in order, will update with any problems.

Massive thanks to all that gave advice and posted very helpful links.

    Cheers Guys!!!!!!

I resurrected my dbox2 (x2) sagem a couple of days ago. I put the trinity image on it and it picked up all channels but all balck screen so i decided to give the commando image a go. installed it and still the same problem. My question for now is i cannot ftp the box. i use root and dbox2 as username and password but it says:

    Command: USER root
Response: 331 Please specify the password.
    Command: PASS *****
    Response: 530 Login incorrect.
Error: Could not connect to server

Any ideas about where i am going wrong would be greatly appreciated. Awesome thread guys. been reading it for a couple of months now

Hi guys,a couple of questions from a newbie

Steo2k8: Is that image suitable for a DM500C dreambox?
If so, you wouldn't happen to know how to flash it via telnet?

I regularly see posts which use "null modem cable" and "RS232 cable" seemingly interchangeably yet the guy in M#plins assures me that I need a null modem cable for connection to my dreambox. Does the RS232 do the job? Thanks.

it might be not sure. an rs232 and null are the same as far as i know.

get the bigmaq toolbar (google) and download the nagrarom 7 under updates/fixes. ftp it to var\keys.

let me know if you need more info.

To the best of my knowledge a "null modem" cable is a crossed-over RS232 cable. So (back in the day) you would use a normal straight-through RS232 cable to hook your pc to an external modem, however a null modem cable has the transmit and recieve pins reversed at either end so you can connect 2 pc's directly together.
